Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"That would kill our other friend who she's trapped inside." Katie says.

 

It's futile, but he leaves you at just less than a half-seal before fogging up the edge of the arena.

"So, now that they can't see the fight... I figure I'd ask. Would you mind chatting sometime? I quite enjoy hearing your opinions."

"Wait, you have a friend in a friend? How does that work?" Murel asks, confused.

 

"Ancient magic rituals apparently." Katie says.

 

Murel sighs.
"That does rule brute force out. What's the deal with the relic hunting?"

 

"We need the relics to do another ritual to get the friend out." Katie says.

 

"So many ancient rituals. What, you got dragon buddies?" Murel says jokingly.

 

"Yes," Katie says, "Fire guardians can turn into dragons too, but that's not their native form."

 

"Wait, seriously? Hold on... lemme guess - you're gonna go telling me you're friends with that paradox girl Ihra?"

 

Katie nods.

 

"Give me a moment." I say, as Sivius hears cracking all around him. All of a sudden, he finds himself back at his original position in the arena before the match.

"Welcome back to the real world." I comment, "And yes, I would have no problem with your suggestion."

 

"Would you mind showing me your kingdom while we're at it? After your other duels, of course."

"The nice one or the mean one?" Murel asks.

 

"The...nice one?" Katie says, unsure.

 

"Certainly." I say, before shouting out, "I cede!"

 

"Man, that must be cool! She's really good at gardening, according to some of the workers here."

The dome dispels, Sivius bowing and walking out of the training room.

The other draconian just looks at you in awe.
"Do I really still get to duel you?" They ask.

 

"I have a friend called Artemis who's also really good at gardening." Katie says, smiling.

 

"Isn't that the name of some archer lady in a fable?"

 

"Yes...one of the gods in greek mythology, but she was named after the god. She's a huntress like her too!" Katie says happily.

 

"Certainly."

 

"That's neat, but... I can't tell if Embers is drinking too much at once or trying to drown herself."

 

Katie and Angela pull Embers out of the bathtub.
