Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"T-told you... d-don't come back... w-without miss Liv."

 

"I'm sorry, but we don't know where she is." Katie says apologetically.

"Do you really think s-starving yourself will make her come back? I-If she hasn't come back already, w-why kill yourself? D-Don't you think that would make her sad if s-she were to come back? Seeing her b-beloved pet starved to d-death instead of h-happy and healthy?" Angela asks.

 

Embers pauses.
"D-did you find something, then? A-a trace?"

 

"We...don't have any information on Liv, but we need your help." Katie says.

"H-How would you like it if you had to go away for a long time and you came back to see Liv on the brink of starvation!?" Angela says more confidently, speaking over Katie.

 

"I-I'd find her f-food."

 

"But wouldn't you have been happier knowing she was healthy while you were away instead of in pain from starvation? Able to cope and look after herself? What you're doing is incredibly selfish, don't you care for how Liv feels? Just because you want her back so badly doesn't mean you can whine about it and starve yourself! That will achieve nothing but pain for yourself and others!" Angela says confidently.

 

Embers sighs, letting her eyes close again.

 

Katie walks closer to Embers.

"Um, excuse my friend, but we need your help. We were told you buried a relic in the underworld, and we need to find where it is. You see, we're trying to revive someone we care about, like Liv is to you," Katie explains, "I think the person we're trying to revive might even know something about where Liv is, or knows people who know about her."

 

Embers opens one eye again.
"R-really? W-well... maybe if you h-have food..."

 

"There's a city in the underworld where we can get food, and I can get you some water." Katie says, forming an ice-bowl and filling it with water.

 

Embers shifts away from the water.
"N-no, I c-can't stand up..."

 

"Do you want us to bring you some food then?" Katie asks.

 

"P-please... and some l-lava."

 

Katie thinks for a moment, before searching her pockets and heading back to Angela.

"Angela, did Aj give you one of those black crystals that lets you teleport to his realm and back?" Katie asks.

"I...think so. Yes, I have one here." Angela says, taking a black crystal out of her pocket.

"We need to use it to get Embers some food." Katie says.

"Oh, a-alright." Angela says, taking Katie's hand as the pair teleport away.

 

Curious, Murel looks through the portal.

 

The portal barely lasted half a second, all Murel able to see being a flash of darkness.


A long while later, Katie and Angela return along with a pair of fire guardians. Katie and Angela appear to be pulling a heavy layered cart stacked with food, while the fire guardians carry a bathtubful of molten lava. The fire guardians gently lower the bathtub of molten lava near to Embers before leaving through the already closing portal, while Katie and Angela wheel the cart over to Embers.

"W-We didn't know what you l-liked, so we got you a s-selection of things." Angela says.

The cart appears to be stacked with cooked and raw meats, exotic fruits and vegetables and hot soup and noodle dishes.

 

Ember can't lift her head.
"C-can I get a d-drink first...?"

Murel steps back, looking confused at the group.
"What, you got a palace of your own? The hell you need some dumb relic for?"

 

Katie and Angela lift Embers up, putting her head near the tub.

"A friend of ours who's been trapped." Katie says.

 

"Half, I'd say." I say, sending more shockwaves around me.

 

Practically limp, Embers just lets her face sit in the magma.

"Can't you just cut 'em out of their prison? You got an army, it'd seem."
