Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Angela? Nice to meet you. Sorry about your friend, I just saw something barreling down at me and put my shield between it and me... it being you two, in this case."

Xlentia eventually starts tossing a gold coin around, bored.

Still just Emerald.

 

"How much gold do you have?"
Crystal asks.

I approach Emerald.
"Hey."

 

"All of my gold is compressed, and I have ten times my size last time I checked my vault. Only have three times my size in diamonds, but those are nice and glimmery."

She turns to you, making eye-to-socket contact.
"Yes?"

 

"Only have three times your size? That's still a ton."
Crystal says in amazement.

"Do you happen to know where Aj is?"
I ask.

 

"Sapphire put escape routes in my room, but before that I used to keep more in here. Felt like a real queen with a diamond-lined belly and walls lined with gold."

"Entelp, Underworld. He's over in the city, which is about a two week's flight. I'd suggest taking a Voidwalker."

 

"That sounds cool."

"Fast traveler. Where might I get a Voidwalker to help?"

 

"Nobody questioned me then..." She says with a reminiscent smile.

"Rineth's up on the surface if you want to use him, waiting near the volcanic plains. Otherwise, I'd check the bunk room."

 

"Is it fun? Being a god when nothing's around to mind-control you?"

"Alright. Thanks."
I say, then start to walk to the Entelp portal.

 

"The problems come with boredom. Many lesser gods find themselves going insane, and sometimes a less-active high god is prone. Chronos especially... I feel terrible. He goes back to the dawn of time, tells himself to wait a bit before doing things. Always ends up with him going insane and repeating the process, increasing the amount of time between activities futilely."
Pause.
"So, no... it's sort of like an eternal prison. You just... can't enjoy what mortals enjoy. The only thing we have going for us is to watch the mortals, hope they progress. Change something, repeat." She admits. "Hoarding used to be a lot more fun than it was."

Upon entry, Rineth can be seen laying idly near a volcano, though his eye is the giveaway; his scales are as dark as the rock he's laying on.

 

"Geez. That's... depressing, really."

I start making my way towards Rineth.

 

"I didn't mean to mess up your day. It's just... hard. You run out of things to do, friends to make... we grow distant, even if we don't want to. My brother's the best example of that..." She sighs.

There's not a single creature between you and him, and he stands up once you get close.
"Hey, did you finish up in Maralune?" He asks.

 

"Sorry for asking. I got this thought that long living people did a lot of cool stuff, cause of how much my creator told me about."

"Yeah, everything should be fine there, if Aj can make sure an infinite Inhibitor is in place.

 

"It's fine. Curiosity's the only thing that lasts."

"Still hasn't gotten that one done?" Rineth asks, a bit surprised.

 

Crystal just stays silent.

"I don't know, but he never confirmed it lasted forever, so I'm still a bit on edge."

 

Xlentia lets her chambers fall completely silent.

"Did you at least check it? It has a timer on it."

 

Crystal hugs Xlentia.
Though, it's kind of pathetic.

"I didn't. I can check it another time, though."

 

She smiles, but says nothing.

"Well, clearly you didn't come here to talk about that. What's going on?"

 

Crystal just keeps his pose.

"I wanted to talk to Aj, but apparently he's two weeks away by flight, so it'd be nice to have the help of someone who could open portals."

 

Xlentia "hugs" Crystal gently with a tip of a claw, the only thing that can at any point compare to his size.

"Yeah. Let them know that Katie got run off into the emergency room while you're down there." Rineth says, standing up.

 

Crystal eventually stops hugging Xlentia.
"Do you know if Linoa is here?"

"Will do. How'd that happen?"
