Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"But will this loop continue on?" I ask, as the clones each take their turn swinging at Sivius before disappating.

 

Each strike is parried, despite Sivius hardly flinching.
"It always does."

The lab's crowded, tubes filled with injured draconians with varying injuries, and, in some cases, mere strips of flesh.

"Not yet."

 

Crystal looks around for a scientist.

"Have you looked?"

 

"Um, hello." Katie says.

 

They glance up at Katie.
"Oh, dear... Don't mind me. Your gear is in the changing rooms. If the colors aren't to your liking, it's that or get burned, so I'd learn to live with it." They say, jumping over on a rack of jackets and dusting it off with their tails.

They're all at consoles, though two more enter while he's looking.

"Not hard, but I've looked."

 

"Oh...um...ok." Katie says, looking for the changing rooms.

Angela sighs, nervous.

 

There are four rooms, two with doors propped open and full fireproofing outfits inside.

 

Katie and Angela head into the rooms, putting on the outfits.

 

Crystal goes up to one, trying to get their attention.

"Alright. I'm going to keep looking. Have a nice day."
I say, exiting the throne room.

 

They're mostly black with blue-green sleeve cuffs, and the gear's kinda heavy. However, Katie and Angela feel the clothes adjust their body temperatures to what they deem comfortable.

They glance at him.
"Hey, Crystal. Can you make it quick? We're kinda busy."

"You too." He says, drawers opening and closing audible as you leave.
...There's not too much left to do here.

 

"At least they look ok." Angela says, slightly more confident as she looks herself over.

 

The gear seems particularly heavy on the shoulders, but the air already seems more breathable.

 

Angela and Katie leave, looking for an entrance to the main part of the volcano.

 

There are other entries to other caves, but Rineth's curious glances suggest that the duo can be done with this volcano.

 

"Where do we go?" Katie asks, lost.

 

"Well, I would suggest the kingdom." Rineth says, pointing to the walls with statues functioning as lava fountains, a grand gate currently open over one of three visible bridges over the molten moat.

 

Katie and Angela head toward the kingdom, Angela seeming a little depressed.

 

A lava creature rises out of the moat, holding a stone spear able to resist melting in the magma.

"Good afternoon, you two! Might I ask what you're entering for? Business, tourism, curiosity...?" It asks.

 

"Um, business? We're looking for a pet of a fire queen." Katie says.

 

Their expression turns from happy to solemn.
"Well... I suppose you can try talking to Embers. She's hardly eaten since Queen Liv vanished."
Pause.
"I'll go notify the palace of your arrival." They say, submerging themselves in the moat.
