Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Fear diminishing, they walk up to him.
"Sorry, I didn't notice you were alive."

 

The group heads into the city.

 

"It's okay. It's kinda hard to see that when I don't move."

 

Rineth and Linoa follow, the city guard eyeing you in particular warily.


Once inside, it seems like an odd mix of old and new - sort of like an amalgamation of a bunch of different types of architecture.
A stronghold stands tall at the center of the city, and it seems that the group entered into a largely commercial area of town, shops of all kinds lining the streets.

It may be a noteworthy obervation that nobody uses vehicles here, not even bikes.

"Mind me asking what you were doing with chief? I was worried when he didn't make it back to his den last night."

 

Stephanie looks overs the shops, curious, while Angela stays close to Katie.

"Interesting design." Shadow Stephanie comments.

"It looks like this place was destroyed in a lot of places before being rebuilt and preserved. It's really unique to see the history and progression of the city." Artemis says, smiling.

 

There's a pet shop, a bar (which Linoa is actively entering), a few clothing shops, and a jewelry store.

"It's definitely unique, I'll give it that." Rineth says, looking around.

 

"Well, he feel asleep in the vine palace thingy, then I wanted to take him back home, but I didn't know where that was, so eventually I ended up around here, but I didn't want to wake everyone up, so I just made a little hole."
Crystal explains.

 

"Makes sense. Thanks."

 

"I'm going to check out some of the shops, I'll catch up with you guys." Stephanie says, entering one of the clothing shops.


"Looks pretty." I comment.

 

"Where does Aral'hrah sleep?"
Crystal asks curiously.

 

The first clothing shop sells a few plain clothes but has a clear focus on what seems to be the culture's 'formal' dress, from intricate dresses that could be mistaken for a wedding dress to suits both with intricate patterns or bones sewn into the design.
"Good morning, miss! Nice to see a fresh face here. Can I help you with anything?" The shopkeeper asks.


"I don't know if pretty will ever fit in the underworld, but if it could, this would have to be it."

"I can show you his den."

 

"Sure, that'd be cool."

 

"I'm just browsing, but thank you!" Stephanie says happily, looking for anything that stands out to her.


"I mean, it honestly makes them look resilient. The fact they were able to be broken down and just rebuild themselves evidenced by the intact old buildings is quite impressive." I say.

 

The raptor starts walking off.

"Alright, let me know if that changes!"
The shop seems to just sell normal clothes, fancy dresses, and assassin's garb. Nothing much is eye catching aside from the painstakingly carefully sewn patterns on some of the dresses.


"If the implications hold true, it looks like they've rebuilt more times than there are trees in a small forest." Rineth says, seeming particularly unsure about a stone brick tower built right next to a definitely-less-old park.

 

Stephanie looks over the assassin's garb, curious, imagining herself in it.


Artemis' ears prick up at the mention of trees and forests.

"Still, they managed to rebuild a ton of times. That's pretty impressive." I say.

 

Crystal follows.

 

Some of it is dark, but other outfits are brown and green in color, likely for forest work. Some are even asphalt grey, blending in fairly well with concrete. They're all light, have a thin metal mesh that seems to be able to stop an arrow and lessen stab wounds, and have slots for hidden blades.


"Definitely. I wonder when the last time they were attacked is... as impressive as it may be I'd hope it wasn't constant."

Near the portal, they stop near a small dirt mound.
"Here. Only den that doesn't have grass growing on top." They say.

 

Stephanie keeps looking through the clothes, looking for a pretty dress or nice shirt.


"T-That sounds horrific." Angela says nervously.

 

The shirts are plain, but the dresses are a bit over-the-top. The closest thing to something in between is a purple dress with a few strings of crystal beads draped around the hips and an almost hypnotic pattern sewn in with a darker thread on the lower part of the dress. The top is rather simple otherwise.

"Well, only if it's true. I'll go ask, you let me know if you get any leads on the relic." Rineth says, walking off.

 

"Oh, Okay. Thanks!"
Crystal smiles.
