"...Times have changed." The construct sighs. "However, your reasoning is valid."

 

Stephanie thinks for a moment.

"How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?" Stephanie asks.

 

"What year is it?"

 

"Well, by my calendar on Earth, it's two thousand and seventeen." Stephanie says.

 

"Searching Archives...

...

...

...According to a report written about your 'Earth,' approximately two thirds the age of your homeworld."

 

"Wow...you're quite old. You must have seen a lot change." Stephanie says, surprised.

 

"Lots of change, little progress."

 

"Why are you trying to find a construct better than you are?" Stephanie asks.

 

"It is simply what I was tasked to do. Many modern constructs claim they're breaking barriers or pushing limits, when in fact they're nothing but short circuits and broken dreams of biological creators. By now, it disgusts me how pitiful they all are."

 

"Have any even come close to beating you?" Stephanie asks.

 

"No. I have not had to exceed 30% offensive capacity to breach the frame of any construct. None have exceeded 25% defensive capacity."

 

"Wow...so...who made you?" Stephanie asks.

 

"Unknown response to query, I apologize."

 

Stephanie thinks for a moment.

"What's your first recorded visual entry?" Stephanie asks.

 

"A testing chamber. Involuntary movements, different body dimensions. Looked like I was made to keep something from being forgotten."

 

"What was causing your involuntary movements?" Stephanie asks.

 

The lightning bolts all come flying towards Sivius, as I form more lightning bolts.

 

"I didn't, frankly."

 

"I couldn't see. It appeared to simply be a movement test, though."

He raises his hand off his broadsword, the bolts thrown aside.

"Then I think we're wasting time I could be using to sleep."

 

"What was your first interaction with another being like?" Stephanie asks, curious.
