Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Linoa finds the teapot, glancing at the writhing half-spider as she takes a mouthful of the tea, letting it sit on her tongue a while.

 

Shadow Stephanie just watches silently.

 

She swallows, smiling as she takes another mouthful.

 

Shadow Stephanie glances at the half-spider, curious.

 

The writhing is slowing, almost dead.

Linoa glances around, pours the tea into a few teacups, drinks one, and leaves the other for Shadow Stephanie.
"Artemis would love this stuff." She says after swallowing.

 

"Flavour?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Let's just say every one of those spiders make it and I would gladly down a pot every day if it meant being stuck here." Linoa says, taking another mouthful.

 

The teacup set aside disappears, seeming to float in midair a short distance away as Shadow Stephanie tries some of the tea.

 

Once she takes a sip, Shadow Stephanie's mouth is almost overloaded with flavor. The tea's insanely strong, but balanced. Not very sweet, but not bitter. Once she swallows it (or spits it out), her mouth seems to have 'reset,' leaving no aftertaste and taking any other aftertastes with it.

 

The cup re-appears in it's old place as it disappears from Shadow Stephanie's hand.

"Nice." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"I mean, I would've rather just asked, but downing a pot from a dead one isn't technically impolite."

 

"These things have anything useful on them?" Shadow Stephanie asks, "Like, potent blood, useful bones, that kind of thing?"

 

"I've studied a corpse, and they turned up nothing. Not even anything even remotely close to venom, which I was hoping to collect."

 

"Hm." Shadow Stephanie says, before a slight breeze of air indicates her leaving.

 

Linoa stays to finish the pot of tea as Rineth just keeps going, seeming to forget about Linoa and Shadow Stephanie taking a detour.

 

The group continues onward, aiming toward the large city.

 

After several hours, it's due time to sleep, or assign shifts... and the city still looks at least a day out.

 

Stephanie flies down, taking out some potions a swirling mix of light grey and dark blue making up their liquid.

"We shouldn't stop here, it's too dangerous. Drink these, it'll give you a night's rest worth of energy." Stephanie says.

"I guess it's better than risking attack while we're vulnerable." Artemis says, taking a potion.

The rest of the group takes potions, drinking them along with Stephanie.

 

I remain silent, as an even smaller fireball forms in my hand. I throw it to the ground, creating a smokescreen.

 

"You're probably going to have to live with that, you know."
