Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yup." I say, considering the portals.

"Which portal contained the underworld again?" Stephanie asks.

 

"I'm eager to see how far you make it against me." Sivius says, standing on one end of an arena, hand on the hilt of his rapier.

"The wall used a stone different than what the tools are made of. Porous rock isn't great on durability, but we used it for the wall since nothing else could break it easily. Except us..."

"Entelp." Rineth says.

 

The group heads through to Entelp, glancing around.

 

They appear back on the crystal clear frozen ocean, Gaia's rose visible far below the surface.
Once again, the tundra is to the northeast, the volcanic area to the east, the desert to the west, wasteland southwest, and forest south and southeast. The ocean continues north, though it stops being frozen and turns into a stormy sea around the island city up there.

 

The group heads toward the desert, looking for the underworld portal.

 

The bone and flesh portal is in the wasteland, though a few hellhounds take interest in the group, particularly Artemis as one carries a piece of scrap metal and looks at her, hopeful.

 

Angela ends up holding on to Shadow Stephanie as Artemis offers a hand to take the scrap metal and throw it for the hellhound.

 

The hellhound approaches and drops the piece of scrap metal, the others all suddenly seeming equally interested.

Linoa can't hide a giggle as the hellhounds form a semicircle around Artemis.

 

Artemis holds up the scrap metal, shaking it slightly before throwing it away from her as hard as she can.

 

All the hellhounds go for it, soon tearing each other apart as they fight for the scrap, Rineth not-so-subtly pushing the group towards the portal.

 

The group looks into the portal.

"W-W-We're not g-going in t-there, a-are we?" Angela asks, petrified.

"Gross..." Shadow Stephanie comments.

"I don't want to get eaten..." Katie says nervously.

 

Sixteen eyes open around the group, teeth unmeshing to open the portal.
"Morning, stranger! I don't get visitors much. You new to the underworld?"

 

Angela faints, Shadow Stephanie extending her arm to grab her before she falls into the portal.

"Why...How are you alive?" Stephanie asks, confused.

"Are you going to like, eat us as soon as we enter? Or at least try and chew us up?" I ask.

 

"No, no, that'd be rude! Why is it wrong for something to be alive? Aren't you alive, and the hellhounds? Come on, everyone has to be a critic..."

 

"Hey, Katie, do you mind waking Angela up with some water?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

"Oh, sure!" Katie says happily, splashing a bit of cold water on Angela, causing her to regain consciousness.

"Uughn...S-Stephanie? W-Was there a big alive fleshy p-portal or w-was that just a n-nightmare?" Angela asks, rubbing her head.

"There was, and we're sacrificing you to it!" Shadow Stephanie says gleefully, picking Angela up and holding her above her head.

"Wha-AAH! N-NO PLEASE!" Angela screams, struggling.

Shadow Stephanie throws Angela into the underworld portal, Angela screaming as she falls into it.

"Did you have to do that?" I ask Shadow Stephanie, "You could've killed her."

Shadow Stephanie shrugs.

 

Angela falls onto a patch of loose and soft dirt, the rest of the underworld looking dirty, fleshy, and feral. There's a metropolis in the distance, but it's WAY in the distance.


"Oh, come on. I'm not that bad!" The portal complains. "At least I don't need to eat anything or anyone else to live."

 

Angela just sobs, scared.


Artemis runs up behind Shadow Stephanie and jump-kicks her into the portal.

"Agh, fuck yooooooo-" Shadow Stephanie trails off as she falls into the portal.

"Did you have to do that?" I ask Artemis.

"Come on, let's jump in together." Artemis says, offering a hug.

I walk over to Artemis and hug her, and the pair of us jump into the portal together.

"You look rather creepy though." Stephanie says as she walks to the edge of the portal turns around, closing her eyes and putting her arms outward as she lets herself fall backward into the portal.

Katie waits by the portal, apprehensive.

 

"Don't worry, lady. The weather's fine down there. A lot less stuffy than it is up here."


The portal seems to have a second head/side, looking at the group.
"Hope you find what you're looking for! I mean, nobody ever comes down here for sightseeing."

 

"Where's Katie? The blue haired one." I ask.

 

"If you say so."
I say, throwing the rocks in my hands into the moat.
