Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Nyx watches through a window before going back to her work.

 

The group waits for Shadow Stephanie to return with the other relic before heading to Xlentia's chambers.

"Wasn't she out in Maralune?" Artemis asks as we walk.

"She might have returned. It's best to check here first anyway." I say.

 

The door's open, Rineth standing there.
"Oh, I didn't expect your group back. I thought you quit?"

 

Angela hides behind Artemis and I, terrified of Rineth.

"No...?" Shadow Stephanie says, confused.

"Is Xlentia still in Maralune?" I ask.

 

"No, she's back. Just had a group of humans want to see what she's like. Unanimous response; big."

 

"S-Scary, t-too." Angela says nervously from behind Artemis and I whilst trying to remain out of sight.

"Well, hopefully you'll be seeing Ihra soon." I say positively.

 

"She's only scary if you piss her off. That aside, I got updated on the other relic locations if you're going to go full-force on getting Ihra back."

 

"Let's go, then."
I say, heading towards the doors.

 

"Told you there were more than two required." Shadow Stephanie says smugly, crossing her arms.

"Whaaat? We need more?" I whine.

 

"There are five. Two does not equal five." Rineth says bluntly, Linoa laughing as she approaches.
"Well, guess I'm inviting myself after that blunder!" She chuckles.

You pass Aj's group as you go.

 

I ignore them at first, waiting to see if everyone's still here as I exit.

 

All eleven exit, giving Aj's group nervous glances.

 

"Where are the remaining relics?" Artemis asks.

 

"One in each other realm. Dive into the underworld for one, find a fallen queen's crown for a second, and... kill Ragnyon." Rineth says, hesitating on the third method.

 

"What? Like...she is the relic or what?" I ask.

"Can she be revived?" Artemis asks.

 

"You need a prophet's heart. Ragnyon's all we have in that category, and I'm not sure about revival."

 

"Like...any prophet?" I ask.

"Um, maybe she could have a heart transplant to get the heart without killing her?" Katie suggests.

"That...could actually work." Shadow Stephanie says, surprised.

 

"That's a good point. She just kind of... overheard Emerald briefing me and booked it as fast as she could hobble through one of the portals." Rineth admits.

 

"So could we just get like, a human prophet, and use their heart?" I ask.

Shadow Stephanie smacks me around the head.

"Don't be a smartass." Shadow Stephanie says flatly.

"Could you maybe not smack Aj like that?" Artemis asks, annoyed.

"Geez, sor-ree." Shadow Stephanie says sarcastically.

Artemis glares at Shadow Stephanie.

"Ugh, fine. You realise Aj and I have been like this longer than you've been his girlfriend, right?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

Artemis just kisses me, and Shadow Stephanie rolls her eyes.

 

"Friends of mine."
I quickly explain, Crystal catching up to me.
