Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I wouldn't be taking control of the soul, I'd be taking it's position of control over Idala. Considering my strength compared to it, it probably couldn't control Idala through me." I think, "It's to make sure it doesn't harm Idala; I don't think directly attacking this soul would be good for Idala if it's tied to her."

I pause for a moment, trying to make my thoughts private.

"I'm unsure if I could actually become attached to Idala; I'm already linked with the human I take my form from, so I'm unsure if I could become her new reflection. Either way, I don't think Artemis would like it." I think.

"O...k...So, why were you smelling me? Is that part of a weird relationship thing you have with Eras? You two like to smell each other all the time?" Abigail asks.

 

"Instinct. It's how I greet people in this form... Hold on. Let me do something more normal."

A few flashes of light (and a drop in temperature) later, Xephyr is back in her draconian form.

She holds out her hand for a handshake.
"Forgive me... I wasn't thinking."

 

Artemis shakes her hand; warmth radiating from her.

"Why are you a slave? Surely that must suck." Abigail says, "Unless, I mean, you're into that stuff. You do whatever you want, I ain't judging...".

 

"S-slave? No, I wanted to serve him..."
"Be softer on her, she's had a rough life." Riihs reaches out to Abigail telepathically.
"...Mistress fell, and I was the only one to escape... I've been running since, but master Eras let me serve him."
"A locket that's important to her life is toxic to her... Furthermore, she's always served a master. She doesn't know any other life."

 

"Well, it's awfully kind that Eras let you serve him isn't it? You must feel safe with him around; I'm sure he won't let 'Mistress' harm you." Abigail says with a kinder tone.

"That...really sucks. She only knows to serve? Poor girl..." Abigail thinks.

 

"I don't blame him for telling me he can't guarantee my safety. Though, Mistress is a lot more concerning to your friends than you, maybe... I don't mean to offend, but it doesn't seem they told you who Mistress is."
She looks at the ground bitterly.
"I keep calling her Mistress because I keep hoping I can free her some day. I'm too weak, though..."

 

"I'm sure they- we, can find a way to free your mistress; she's probably just waiting in a cell somewhere wanting to be rescued. Would you mind telling me who she is?" Abigail says kindly.

 

"Artemis... Would you mind doing it for me? Her name brings back horrible..."
She tears up.
"...I failed her... I failed her and the others were corrupted..."

 

"She's this huge dragon called Xlentia that got corrupted by something and turned evil. Somehow I think she's after Aj and I since we passed through the void." Artemis explains.

"Oh...so, by 'free', she really meant 'free of corruption'?" Abigail says, embarrassed.

"Yeah, I think whatever corrupted her corrupted Nyre and the other fragments of decay." Artemis says.

"So Xephyr's our gal on the inside?" Abigail asks.

Artemis looks at Xephyr expectantly.

 

"I only know so much. But, I was their tactician. They're not staging anything huge without me in their control... other than bringing Mistress to this world to exterminate me and the Fragments of Divine Judgement."

 

Abigail seems rather shocked.

"How thick is Xlentia's neck?" I ask, appearing next to Abigail and Artemis, "And would you mind if I took her head as a trophy?"

"Who're the Fragments of Divine Judgement?" Artemis asks.

 

"Ihra, Riihs, Vei, Tirai, and Vesius are the Fragments of Divine Judgement.

As for mistress' neck... Her eye is twice as tall as you."

 

"Alright, so I need to stab her eyes out, jump in her empty eye socket, cut through her skull and start stabbing the brain?" I say.

"What powers do the Fragments of Divine Judgement hold over Xlentia?" Artemis asks.

"Looks like we're gonna need some, divine intervention." Abigail says, taking my shades and putting them on, before finger-gunning. The shades seem to suit Abigail a lot better.

 

"We're equals. One's fast, the other regenerates faster than most people can hurt her. One's a dragon, the other draconian."
Riihs looks cross with Abigail.

 

"Pfft, I bet I could take down Xlentia easy." I gloat.

"Oh please, she'd completely crush you." Abigail says.

"Oh yeah? Bet I could take you down easy!" I say, determination in my eyes.

"You're on." Abigail says.

Abigail and I walk over to Ihra.

"Yo, Ihra, do you think you could lend me some of that magic from your staff?" Abigail asks.

Artemis seems a little exhausted with Abigail and I's antics.

"Well, I guess you'd be at a stalemate without support." Artemis says.

 

We'll see. For now, at least protect her from anything which isn't the reflection.
Eras glares at Abigail.

 

"But...I thought my goal was to protect her from the reflection..." I think, confused, "My bodyguard duties are kind of filled with Artemis and Abigail, though I guess I could make room for Idala too".

 

I did say protect her, though the reflection is the main threat. Luckily, Eras will be protecting her from anything other than the reflection too so the reflection is only thing you will really need to think about. But Eras is a God and at some point may have to go somewhere which is too dangerous for Idala. Of course, I'm protecting her from these threats too, but the more people there are, the better.

 

"I'll make sure nothing touches her, then," I think, "I'm sure Artemis can handle Ihra, so that frees up her spot so I can protect Idala."

"What should I look out for if she gets possessed?" I ask.

 

Her eyes glow purple and her voice sounds strange. She usually becomes weaker too. Though, it is hard to tell if the reflection is actually trying to control her. If she calls upon the power of souls, these things happen anyway, except for becoming weaker. She will also starting acting strange. If she says something like, "I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL.", or, "YOUR WORLD WILL SOON BE MINE.", then you know that she is definitely being controlled.
