Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Do you wish to join me to fight the hive master, or do you wish to join me to work at the palace?" I ask.

 

"I-I want to join your fight. I don't want work; I could retire right now back at home, and still have enough for sis if she ever came back." She says, trying to appear confident.

 

"Are you sure? It's extremely dangerous, you know." I ask.

 

"I mean... not one of us could stop any of you or your friends. W-we're dead either way, right? I may as well try and be the needle to b-break the camel's back."
She seems uneasy, but her conviction is strong.

 

"Not if we stop the hive master, then you won't die." I say.

 

"That's the only sliver of a chance I have. That's why... w-well, I can't really fight, but you all seemed to like my cooking. Your group seemed to be down in the dumps over the loss of a friend, a-and I thought maybe I could help keep your heads up 'til you found a way to get her back."

 

"Alright, you can join us. It'd be nice to have someone to support us, and Artemis could easily grow you some ingredients." I say.

 

"Thanks. Uhm... could you return my cloak sometime, too? I dunno how I snuck the relic past the guards..."

 

"Cloak?" I ask.

 

"You know, the thing I brought the relic in with." She says, pointing to her cloak dimming the glow of the relic.

 

"Ah, of course." I say.

 

"Thanks. Uhm... I-I guess I'll be waiting in that big palace back in my reality. Maybe I'll see you there soon? A few people said they thought most of your friends quit."

 

"I don't recall there being a big palace in your reality..." I say, confused.

 

"That goddess? You know, the sister of the one who we got that relic from?"

 

"Oh, you mean Xlentia's palace?" I ask.

 

"Xlentia's her name? I'll remember that. Yeah, there."

 

"Got it." I say, nodding.

 

"I'll have some food prepped for you and your friends by tonight. Hopefully you show up to this gathering, now that you know it exists?" She giggles, turning to head out.

 

"Sure." I say, shrugging.

 

She leaves the throne room, tail under her robe wagging as she heads out.
