Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Will it function longer than the last one?"
I ask the air guardian.

 

"Hopefully it's regeneration will outweigh it's consumption rate." The air guardian says.

 

"Did the other one have regeneration?"

 

"Yes, mage crystals which store spells generally do. It just wasn't strong enough." The air guardian says.

 

"Ah."
I nod.

 

She silently watches until the last painting is hung.
"...I haven't looked at all of my paintings in a while. Sort of got hit with a surge of sentimentality."

It takes an hour to find, but once you do, the symptoms suggest that it really is just another case where a foreign sickness is amplified by the fact Ren's body didn't have any prior exposure, thus there were extreme reactions to something as simple as a cold.

 

The technicians continue their work, adding what appears to be a few final touches and a bit more casing.

"You can always come visit." Stephanie says.

 

I wait a bit, Crystal still looking around.

 

"If I'm not painting something else, then I suppose I could. How do I get here, though?"

 

The inhibitor is eventually finished, an Earth Guardian picking it up and taking it toward the elevator.

"Uh, hold on." Stephanie says, taking out a black crystal and etching runes into it.

 

I look towards Artemis.
"Should we follow?"

 

"What's that?" She asks, curious.

 

"Ah, I see." I comment, placing the book back and heading outside the library.

 

Sapphire moved, and the hallway is now empty.

 

I head over to the indoor garden to see if the flower is still there.

 

The void flower hasn't been disturbed.

 

I decide that I've spent enough time in the palace and head back to the portal.

 

Everyone's still busy, it seems. Mostly with the airships.

 

I contact the head of the survey corps in the ruins.

"Status report?"

 

Artemis nods, trailing the earth guardian.

"A teleportation crystal with the return property." Stephanie says.
