Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

You eventually find Artemis with her bow drawn, aiming it towards me and smirking as I appear to be tied to a tree.

 

I stand still, putting my hand on Crystal's chest, stopping him from moving forwards as we watch.

 

Artemis catches you out of the corner of her eye, turning to you and looking embarrassed.

"Oh, uh...hey!" Artemis says nervously, turning red.

 

"Hey. Are we interrupting something?"

 

"Uhm...kiiind of." Artemis says, embarrassed.

Muffled noises come from me, my mouth covered over with vines.

"Eh heh, don't worry about Aj." Artemis says nervously.

 

"Oh, sorry. We'll leave, then. Come on, Crystal."
I say, turning around and leaving, and Crystal following.

 

"Why did you want us, if you don't mind me asking?" Artemis asks after you.

 

I stop.
"The people on Maralune don't really have any crops to be able to live for long, I was thinking you might be able to grow some quick."

 

"Oh, sure thing! I'll be with you once I've finished with Aj." Artemis says.

I roll my eyes.

 

"Sorry, AJ. And, thanks, Artemis, we'll be outside the forest."
I nod, then keep moving.

 

A long while later, Artemis heads out of the forest, her clothing looking a little torn.

"Hey, so, Maralune right?" Artemis asks, smiling to hide her embarrassment.

 

I take no note of it.
"Yes. The people may have the Inhibitor, but that doesn't mean their dead plants regrew."

 

"Right, I'll try my best to restore life to them. It's more taxing without other sources of life around, which is why I was a death guardian there." Artemis says.

 

"Alright. Well, I can't open portals, and- Crystal, can you open portals?"
"I dunno."
"Well, anyways, you may have to be the leader here."

 

Artemis holds up a black crystal with runes etched into it.

"I figured we'd need to go to the Shadow Realm." Artemis says, smiling.

 

I nod.
"Let's go, then."

 

Artemis opens a portal to the Shadow Realm, heading through it.

 

"Oh, it's okay. Maybe after we move my art." She says, taking one piece of lettuce before slowly working her way through the entire salad, content.

"I dunno."

Seems a few voidwalkers are coming back from something, talking loudly and laughing hysterically as they head to the bunk room.

 

Stephanie summons her tome in the meantime, reading through it idly.

 

The Matriarch eventually gently taps Stephanie on the shoulder.
"Uhm, I don't mean to interrupt your reading, but I finished a few minutes ago."
