"Can I have you promise you won't steal any? I, uh... don't really want to be locked in the dungeon for the rest of my life."

 

"I don't think I really want art. I don't have a use for it," Stephanie says, "I, Stephanie, promise not to steal any artwork."

 

Orchid nods.
"In that case, let's see if you are as blown away as the robot and Artemis." She says, heading off deeper into the forest towards a complex (withered) vine structure that's partially burnt down.

 

"What's this place?"
"It's a elevator."
"Doesn't look like one."
"Well, it is."
I say, turning the dials into the right place.

 

"Ah, apologies." I say, teleporting the both of us to Ren.

 

"A what?"

The nurse bends down before hesitating.
"Uhm... I don't know if our medicine will even work on him."

 

"Can you detect what's wrong with him at least?"

 

"It looks like just a bad cold. Seasonal sickness, his body isn't used to it at all. Usually I'd say that a cold is nothing to worry about, but... it seems to be a lot worse than just a cold."

 

"An elevator."
"It's a machine that's used to ascend while using minimal effort. These one are magic."
I state.

 

"Are there non-magic ele... elev... uh... these things?"

 

"Elevators. And yes, there are."

 

"That doesn't make sense, though. Don't these things move on their own?"

 

"Some aren't magic, they're technological."

 

"Tech... technoll...

...what?"

 

"Some aren't magic, they use technology and electricity to run. For example, I use electricity to walk, talk, think, and so on. Crystal uses magic. This elevator uses magic. Some use electricity."
I explain.

 

"Why is there so much to know? Why aren't these people hunted for straying from things like war and treachery?"

 

"Whose to say there's not war are treachery here?"

 

"I see. Thank you." I say, teleporting the both of us back up before teleporting myself down again.

 

"Because they have all sorts of... like... weapons and magic and technology! Ugh, now I'm glad I can't see anything!"

Just in time for Ren to cough up blood.
"What's a knight...
is it... eternal?
I don't feel..." He mutters, barely audible.

 

"Yes, it is eternal." I say telepathically.
"I'll take you to Xlentia. She most likely has someone who can help you."
