"They what?" Aral'hrah asks, uneasy.

 

"That'd be great!" Stephanie says happily, "I also heard there was another magic user like me here, I think her name was Neal. Do you know where I could find her?"

 

"At least, I'm pretty sure. I noticed it when I was looking for mantis and raptor remains. I also think it's what prompted Eklir to destroy the market."

 

"Well, considering that tome is hers... I don't think she survived her trip to visit your dark goddess, if what chief's scout gave me accurate information."

Aral'hrah laughs.
"That's probably the only thing out of him I'd pardon if I was Akli'il."

 

"W-What? She's dead!?" Stephanie asks, shocked, "Is there anything we can do?"

 

"I dunno. I thought dead things were stuck dead until Artemis came along and revived someone she killed."

 

"Who's Eklir?"
"Another raptor you haven't met yet. Pretty much Akli'il right-hand man when it comes to fighting."
"Oh."

 

"He's super reckless, but Akli'il insists he has a good heart."

 

"I-I guess I'll see what Artemis can do." Stephanie says.

 

"He might, but I'm pretty sure Eklir said that he got his position by beating Akli'il up."

 

"Maybe you could ask the white draconian god that turned her to ash. Said she called for him to do that."

"...Never mind."

 

"There's still a possibility that he has a good heart."

 

"Well, it'd be strange praying to another god, but I could try." Stephanie says, thinking.

 

"I would ask the person who saw it all, if it was me. Of course, her book... tome... might have something, too."

I just focus on walking, and Crystal doesn't ask anything else, just petting Muffy.

 

"I don't want to touch that thing," Stephanie says, shuddering, "Anyway, about those samples?"

 

"Maybe just take a little suction syringe thing and trap some of the air? The stuff's in the air, I think."

Aral'hrah keeps quiet for a minute.
"What's Artemis' home like?"

 

"Don't know."
I admit.
"Which is why we're not going there."

 

"I thought we were going to get her?"
