Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Abigail, slightly confused, ends up taking Katie to a house near a cliffside overlooking the ocean, knocking on the door before being let in.

 

Eventually, everything that seemed to come out of nowhere disappears again.

 

Katie and Abigail stay in the house until even night time, Abigail occasionally looking outside the windows before ducking away again.

 

Nothing else happens.

 

Meanwhile...

Eve flies through the portal to Maralune, carrying what appears to be a new inhibitor towards the old human settlement.

 

Eve can trace only a few hundred human lives left in the settlement. By what Artemis saw, it should have been thousands...

 

Eve flies toward the centre of the settlement, looking for an appropriate place to put the inhibitor down.

 

The center is the utterly razed marketplace.
...Maybe at the top of the castle where it was would be safer?

 

Eve flies up to the top of the castle, checking the structural stability to make sure it isn't going to collapse.

 

It's not very stable, but it's the only place out of reach of anyone left.

 

Eve tries landing on the top of the castle, seeing if it can hold her weight.

 

It can.

 

Eve puts the inhibitor down, activating it.

 

The respite slowly spreads, the panic still not dying down as it reaches its old range.

Neal climbs up to the top of the castle, glancing at Eve.
"What the hell're you...?"

 

"That's classified." Eve says, monitoring the inhibitor.

 

"Classified my ass. Who sent you?"

 

Eve raises an eyebrow, as if Neal already knows the answer to the question.

 

"I know. I don't care. No need to be so stuck up just because I got tricked and relayed false information."

 

"I'm not being stuck up, I'm doing the tasks I was set. I am not allowed to relay who I am, or who sent me, as well as other classified information." Eve says, before heading to the edge and looking at the respite.

 

"And if I break it?"
