Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She slides the closet door opening, stepping out with what seems to be an inflatable toy resembling the mantis Matriarch standing beside them, who slowly waves an armblade, plastic squeaking a bit.

 

Stephanie looks a little confused.

"I haven't heard of that one. Though I have heard of the theory that the Earth is flat and held up by four giant elephants on the back of a turtle flying through space. Very quickly proven untrue." Stephanie says, laughing.

I smile kindly.

"Do you like robots?" I ask, smiling.

 

I smile.
"I imagine so. I believe the whole 'blue eyed giant' thing is a fairly old one that humans used. After all, the sky was blue, how else you you explain that?"
I say, sarcastically.

 

"Ah, but why would you be discriminated against?"

 

"A what?"

"That's like asking why discrimination exists."

 

"'I can see a flat horizon. The earth must be flat. Also, elephants and turtles.'" Stephanie says jokingly, laughing, "I'm glad I'm born into a smarter generation."

"Never mind," I say, "So what do you like to do for fun?"

 

"I play games with Missy Maralune!"

 

"Hey, in their time, there's nothing that disproves the theory."

 

"Can I play a game with you and Missy Maralune?" I ask happily.

"I guess so," Stephanie says, smiling, "So what have you been up to?"

 

"Sure! What games do you know?" Perry asks, running over to her toybox as the mantis toy eyes you over, squeaking a bit whenever it moves.

 

"Fixed a starmap, gathered people to fly to space, we found a guy, then I went exploring a bit more, and found myself trying to stop a climactic war between two species."
I say casually.

 

"I know some board games, like monopoly, snakes and ladders, chess, those sort of games." I say happily.

 

"Whoa...did you stop the war?" Stephanie asks in awe.

 

"What about checkers?" She asks. "Missy Maralune's really good at checkers, too."

 

"Not quite yet, although I think Artemis and or AJ is taking care of it pretty well."

 

"Oh, I'm pretty good at checkers too." I say, smiling.

"I guess Artemis would be the type of person suited to fixing a war between species," Stephanie says, "So, while you're here, want to do anything?"

 

Perry gets out a checkerboard and the checker pieces before setting up the board on the wolf toy's back and sitting down on one side.
"You can go first if you want!" She says happily.

 

"AJ mentioned that you actually have a home. I was kind of wondering about that."

 

"Ok, sure." I say, moving a piece.

As the first game goes on, I seem like I'm going easy on Perry, though from my frustration, it seems I'm actually as bad as I'm playing.

"Oh, yeah. It's where regular Aj lives, and where I usually live. You can check it out if you want." Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"Yeah, sure."
I smile as well.
"Are you going to finish up here, first, or what?"
