Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Demon..." She mutters.

You don't see anything in the throne room. You can faintly hear some kind of plastic creaking sound for a minute off towards the stairwell, but nothing else after that.

 

Artemis glares at the queen, or rather, gives her a grim look.


I teleport over to the stairwell, looking around.

 

You notice a shoe left at the bottom of the stairwell.

 

I pick up the shoe, looking to see if there's a nametag or the like written inside.

 

Nothing, but there's handprints on the floor to the right, suggesting whoever it was fell.
Looking that way, there's another door with a stronger seal and a dead pair of guards thrown off to one side.

 

I investigate the guards, looking to see what killed them.

 

The same arrows Artemis was almost hit by.

 

I summon a few crystals with magic stored within, using their power to draw runes to weaken the seal on the door with.

 

You hear more of the creaking/squeaking plastic, before silence.

 

I continue to draw the runes, discarding drained crystals and replacing them with fresh ones.

 

Eventually, the door flies open suddenly, a toy closet door slowly sliding all the way shut.

 

I enter the room, confused.

 

There's a bunch of toys strewn about, as well as a few colored pencils and childish drawings on the walls. There's also some kind of air-inflated plastic wolf toy that, judging by the pillow and blanket on it, serves as a bed.

 

"Hello?" I call.

 

"P-please go away." A faint, airy voice whispers.

 

"I'm not here to hurt you, I'm here to take you back to your family, your other siblings." I say, looking around.

 

I walk outside and and yell
"EVERYONE INSIDE!"

 

No movement.
"But I don't want to be in the dark. There's scary monsters there."

Xlentia is walking by, of course unable to see your village.
If you don't fix that, it may be flattened with a single step.

 

"Do I look like a scary monster to you?" I ask, "Besides, it's not dark. It's more twilight, like a nice evening."

 

"Yes." They whisper, nervous.
