Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You don't need to know, Naoto." She says. "Not until you learn to stop whining when things don't go your way."

 

"Forget it, I'm going back to my village. And if anything attacks my kin, you'll be sorry you ever saw me."
I walk out of the portal and start walking back to the forest

 

Anne, sitting in front of the portal, busts out laughing.
"You really can't stop whining when things don't go your way, can you?" She giggles.

 

Artemis takes the most damaged looking corpse, using the life from the merchant as well as a large chunk of her power to bring them back to life and heal their wounds.

 

They slowly stir.
"Agh..." They groan.

 

"Welcome back. You've been given another chance." Artemis says, giving them a bit more life to make sure they're fully healed.

 

"H-huh? But... a-aren't you the one that did this to us?" They ask nervously.
They still look grateful, just that the shock of the respite collapsing, dying, and being revived is getting to them.

 

"I am, though I did not realise this would happen at the time. As we speak, a replacement inhibitor is already being made. Everything will go back to normal soon enough." Artemis says.

 

"Thanks."
I say, then walk in the direction they pointed, looking for the elevator.

 

There's an elevator at the end of the hallway, as the air guardian says. Five glowing crystal dials reside in the elevator, seemingly used to control where to go.

 

I analyze the dials, curious as to how they might work.

 

"...Are you sure?" They ask, uneasily looking at the raptor.

 

"Quiet you. I'm going back to my village."

 

"Oh, give the prophet a chance! Stop asking for an unneccesary peace treaty."

 

"You don't understand. This peace treaty means a lot to me..."

 

"They're giving you a hard time because they think you have no trust in them. If you don't trust them, why should they trust you?"

 

"Because of what happened 495 years ago!" I yell

 

"Shut up I'm not that old!" She shouts back.

Ragnyon nervously steps out.
"Um... what happened back then?"

 

It looks like they're meant to be turned to certain positions, all of them pointing upward. The centre dial's markings suggest it's only been turned to 90-degree angles, however.

"I'm certain," Artemis says, "Do not be afraid of the raptor. They are a harmless species and do not harbour any hostility towards you."

 

"Harmless? Their talons punch through light armor!"
