Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The raptor trots up to Artemis and gently scratches at her leg for attention.

 

"Hm? Oh hey!" Artemis says happily, smiling at the raptor with sauce around her mouth.

 

"Hi, miss Artemis! I wanted to thank you for getting the humans to know what it's like being in the ruin! But, uhm... they stole our food stores and burned down the mantis forest in panic. Maybe could you please come back and help?"

 

"Then let's move."
I race ahead.

 

The royal family is panicking, the king laying unconscious as the queen looks over some black crystal.

Suddenly, the air takes on a purple hue and outside the castle, everyone starts screaming.

 

I seem to grit my teeth, turning towards the queen.
"Where'd you get that?"
I ask hastily.

 

"A green-haired girl came... said I could get help for my husband where it would bring me."

 

"Where'd she go?"

 

"She busted through the wall and went down to my husband's sleeping quarters. I haven't seen her since."

 

"Thanks."
I say, then dash off in the direction she described.

 

Through the giant hole in the wall and down the ensuing staircase...

...but nobody's there.

 

I look around for the direction that Artemis could've gone.

 

Her trace suggests she teleported on top of the castle from there.

 

I head outside of the castle, to attempt to fly up to the top.

 

Up top, there seems to be a holding slot for something that's now gone, along with a bunch of broken glass laying around.

 

I look around an estimate how high we are, and how many option there would be to get up here.

 

You'd pretty much have to fly, teleport, or get past a bunch of guards and a few collapsed doorways.

 

I take the chance to look at the land around, seeing if it's still alive.

 

The farms are withered, the gardens twisted, and the grass shriveled up and crumbling.
Safe to say that the ruin works fast.

 

I go back down, looking around for the raptor.
