Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Mostly okay. Just checking over the puppets your engineers built. They don't seem to be familiar with how the joints fit, though. I've had to refit a few dozen parts already." She says, sounding a bit weary.

 

"Sorry about that. I can assure you they've tried their hardest though," I say, "If you need a break or something to eat, the bedrooms and dining hall are always open to you."

 

"I know. Chimera golems are also pretty tough in the first place, but... I dunno. It was a good first try." She says, before pausing.
"I'm gonna have to go piece it together again, they totally butchered the attachment joints, and the serpent fell apart." She grumbles. "Not their fault, just... fourth time it's happened."

 

"You could always get the engineers to help you. You could even teach them how to fix and design them to make it easier for them in the future." I say, smiling.

 

"I guess, but they looked wiped and seemed like they never wanted to work on a puppet again. Especially because I had them redo it the first time since the bear fell apart before I even got it out of their shop."

 

"Well, I've given them double pay for working on the puppets for you. Maybe give them a bit of time to work on another project or two so they can get their minds rebooted." I say happily.

 

"Thanks. I'll probably give them a simple blueprint if they're interested. You know, I bet even Eve could be improved a tiny bit if you replaced a few bolts and socket joints with the techniques my puppets used." She says, before another loud metallic crash can be heard.

"...I knew they messed up the phoenix's neck." She grumbles.

 

"Eve's happy as she is, I don't want to tamper with her. You could always show her some of your techniques though. She might want to improve herself on her own." I say, shrugging.

 

"Maybe. I'm going to try and hopefully get the puppets in working order this week. I appreciate the part construction, though." She says, trying to lighten her mood but not doing too well.

 

"Don't forget to take breaks when you need to. All work and no play can turn you insane." I say, giving Sapphire a kind smile.

 

"The joy of puppetry is that play comes after you finish work."

 

I laugh, "I think you might be good with the arts of voodoo." I say, smiling.

 

"Try another sister! Anyhow, I gotta get these working sooner over later. Maybe you should try and help Artemis with whatever's ailing her. See you!" Sapphire says, waving and flying off.

 

"I've been trying to! Bye!" I say, waving back.

I walk over to Artemis, trying to calm her down before the pair of us head to the dining hall.

 

Eventually, Emerald shows up carrying what looks like a ball of feathers with a head sticking out up to the shadow palace gate.
"Hey, is Artemis busy?" She asks.

 

"I don't believe so. She's in the gaming room." The guard at the gate says.

 

"Can you guide this little one to her? There's someone trying to rabble rouse in my library."
The raptor waves to the guard.

 

"Uh, sure." The guard says, holding her hands out to take the raptor.

 

The raptor leaps and glides into the guard's hands, sitting down once she gets there.
"Thanks, miss!" It says happily.
"Sorry for taking your time. I'll be taking my leave." Emerald says, teleporting away.

 

The guard takes the raptor to the gaming room, where Artemis sits and watches me play a game while eating out of one of three boxes of pizza.
