Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Where'd they go?"
I ask, tearing away at more of the bricks.

 

"Genocidal demon, creature of darkness." I say through Artemis.

"The pair of us make a good team." Artemis says happily.

 

"Eldritch abomination, my apologies." Neal says. "Regardless, don't fall. Or at least, don't hit the ground too hard."

"Throne room."

 

"I'm guessing that's through this blockade?"
I ask, continuing to try and remove bricks.

 

Artemis holds her arm holding Shadow Katana down as it fights to try and threaten Neal.

"I won't. Thank you for all your help, Neal. I'll see to it your rewarded for your efforts once all this is over." Artemis says happily.

 

"Through and upstairs."

 

I nod, seeing if I can get past the bricks yet.

 

"You wouldn't mind getting me a prosthetic arm, then?" She asks bluntly.

A few more.
"Should I run or go with you?"

 

"I can get you a real one that's exactly like your old one if you want." Artemis says, smiling.

 

Neal shrugs.
"Whatever works. Now, don't let me hold you up."

 

"Whatever you want to do."
I tear away at more, getting through once I can.

 

Artemis darts out of the room, back up the staircase and toward the exit of the castle.

 

The raptor slides through the gap after you.
"I wanna see the royalty."

Neal seems to warp away, leaving no trace.

The inhibitor seems to be a light cylinder that slowly radiates a purifying aura.

 

Artemis' Shadow Wings grow a little larger as she takes off from outside the castle, flying up to the top of it.

 

The inhibitor hardly reacts to her presence, but it's clear it's starting to burn low.

 

Artemis pokes the inhibitor with Shadow Katana.

 

It just scratches the glass.

 

Artemis tries cutting a hole in the glass with Shadow Katana.

 

A few hours pass and Laze takes me to the portal where the Prophet is supposed to appear.

 

Instead, it just shatters, the aura distorting and failing as the pieces crumble into a lump of casing, broken glass, wires, a few circuits, and some now busted magic devices.

Anne sits and waits.
"They left an awfully big portal to just... leave open."
"Maybe it's not just for her?" Laze mentions.
"Maybe."

Soon, a draconian with a cane hobbles through the portal, a full regiment of draconian soldiers behind her that cloak briefly after.
"Oh... hello. I was hoping to see a familiar face, but... anyways..."
