Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, I've had few more difficult experiences than getting out of that bed. Damn that was comfortable."

 

"Very well." I say.

I open a telepathic link with h the lamia, and telepathically say, "I am a minor god."

 

"That's what happens with beds, even for those who use them every night."

 

Artemis follows, using her scythe as a walking stick of sorts as she looks at the raptors, holding back her internal urges to run over to them and drain them of their blood.

 

"How the hell is that even mildly concerning?" They ask.

The fact that they run off helps with that.

Ten minutes later, the Matriarch leads Artemis down below the vine structure she first was lead to.

"Well, now I want one."

 

"So does Ytir, I imagine, but the Inhibitor and the humans are first priority."

 

Artemis follows intently.

 

"You know, that Ytir smelled familiar. Whatever... you're right, we need to deal with the big stuff first."

She leads Artemis down into the dungeons, hundreds of mantis chained to the earthen walls.
"Take your pick."

 

"Why's it matter if Ytir 'smelled familiar'?"

 

"Which ones are the most deserving of death?" Artemis asks.

 

"The further back you go, the closer they are to execution." The Matriarch says.

"Just... forget I said that." She shrugs. "We're almost there, anyways."

 

"Alright..."

 

Artemis heads to the back, looking over some of the prisoners.

 

They're all weary, weak. Their exoskeletons are much thinner than, say, that of the Matriarch, and some of them seem to smell of blood as if they were murderers.

"You managed it, I'll be damned. I hope you can pardon my impatience, robot."
Fuela keeps quiet.

 

Artemis lifts her mask to reveal her teeth, before biting into the necks of three of the prisoners, draining all of their blood and enjoying it.

 

"There are some who believe it is a bad omen when a god visits."

 

Dead, the Matriarch orders guards to haul them off.
"Better?"

"We live among them. Fear not, lest you dare challenge them."

 

"Very well. Then I believe I am granted access?"

 

"I am. Admittedly it was my own fault getting me into this situation. I lost control of myself, and responded with hostility which wouldn't allow me to get anywhere with the royalty." Artemis says, shaking her head.

 

"It's understandable. I was supposed to not let major harm come to the three you sent me. Losing one would be a problem."
I say, honest.
