We finally reach where the arrow landed and see to what appears to be a dragon halfbreed

Kiin hugs her back.
"Thanks for ice cream, sis." She says, still nervous.

 

"Let's go home." Katie says happily, freezing another surfboard.

 

"Ah, if only the contract had given me explicit permission to open a sinkhole where the village currently is." I say.

I then open a telepathic link with the head of the survey corps in this realm.
"Have you found any suitable resources that can be tapped into?"

 

Kiin craws on.

"No, not yet."

 

Katie picks up a wave and surfs home.

Meanwhile...

Artemis shows up at Xlentia's chambers, vines over one of her eyes, and looks around for Xlentia.

 

Xlentia seems to be just getting back from somewhere, albeit complaining to Emerald.
"What do you mean they just showed up?"
"By defiance of migratory logic, they did, and thus your resting spot was no longer viable towards your goal to interrupt the local ecosystem minimally."
"But it's a pretty place!"
"Well, I'm sorry, but pretty places have to wait. Plus, watch where you're walking."
"Hu-oh, hi hon! Sorry for not seeing you a second ago."

 

I take my time to walk back to Aral'hrah territory.

 

"Where have you been?" Artemis asks, adjusting the vines around her eye.

 

"Then what is it?"

 

"I wanted to go bird watching, but Emerald said that there was something that caused a migraine shift in birds or something so I can't."
"Migrational shift."
"Whatever."

"I was hoping you'd know, because that isn't a draconian."

Aral'hrah glances at you.
"Bad luck?"

 

"Yup. I faked Eklir's death, and now they want his body to prove myself."

 

"Uh... now I'm really glad not to be in your position." He comments.

 

"Birds fly south for the winter." Artemis says.

 

"I don't imagine it'd be that difficult to get a fake. I supposedly rammed the guy into the ground, he's obviously going to be mangled. You just had a battle, too, right? I'd imagine there are some fresh dead bodies."
I point out.

 

Emerald signals Artemis to stop trying.

"So... what did you come here for? Did the news ever get to anyone other than Myria and Katie?" Xlentia asks.

"The human runners?"

 

"Yeah."

 

"They took all the raptor corpses?"

 

"Yes, we've...beeen informed," Artemis says sadly, "I just wanted to know how much you knew about the four worlds you gave us to explore."
