Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You what?"

Seems... he can't remember where in the library that was in.

 

"I'm a robot. I can be rebuilt, I'll be fine."

Crystal looks for specific directions to bird books.

 

"Oh... okay, I guess?"

Seems the library directory helps with that.
Seventh floor, above the entry it says.

 

"So, should we search for someone that might want to do it?"

Crystal takes the directions, looking for the only book he's ever opened.

 

"And what if I refuse to eat it?"

 

"Then don't expect our behavior to change. If you cannot find the decency to show you're willing to work with us, then we won't find the decency to work with you." They respond. "The hydra had done this as well. Ask him if you wish for proof this is honest."

"I mean... we don't know what's in there or how it works. I worry it's just a grinder."

Upon reaching the section, he... can't remember the volume, considering there's about two hundred volumes in its series.

 

"A three-day coma is one I cannot afford." I say, "But what if I were to have a representative consume the flower?"

 

"Then the representative would be obeyed, unless they took orders from you. In which case, we would not cooperate."

 

"And if I were to create a copy of myself to consume said flower?"

 

The Shadow lets out a demonic roar, growing in size once more as a large pair of wings form under his arms, and he bursts out of the side of the palace, flying into the air. He folds his wings around him, before unleashing a storm of large energy spheres, electrifying the ground and anything they touch when they land.


"Hm, well I guess-" I say, before the palace shakes a bit, "Hold on. I'm going to desl with this myself."

I get up and walk toward the exit of the throne room, before seemingly disappearing.

 

"It's not. It heavily resembles a gauntlet, with various traps, but then there's also golems."

Crystal just takes one of the books, sits down and starts reading.

 

"Then we would obey the copy, lest they took orders from you."
Pause.
"Why can't you just have a copy of yourself do whatever it is you do and eat the flower?"

"Golem? Aren't those also traps?"

Sapphire sighs, vanishing with the modified rifle.

More barriers protect the city and bulk of the palace thanks to Virei'tus, but Nyx seems to keep staring the shadow down.

 

The Shadow spits out a large, strange egg of sorts, that hatches into a group of small Shadows that run toward Nyx, possessing her and draining her away.


Eve, now with Shadow Katana on her back, fires two chainguns of bolts of light energy at the Shadow, causing the Shadow to shield himself with his wings, seeming to block the shots.

 

"I suppose, but they can be handled differently."

 

Nyx, having no body, can't be possessed. She doesn't mind swinging at the group of shadows, though.


Virei'tus, wary, starts looking on other planes of existence to start cutting off any energy source the shadow has.

"How so?"

 

The Shadows converge into darkness and start sapping Nyx's energy, the drain growing stronger as the Shadows steal the energy.

The larger Shadow begins firing the bolts of light back at Nyx, Virei'tus and Eve, Eve creating an energy shield to block and reflect the shots.

 

"Moved, lifted, mainly a lot of things that you can do to a person, but not a grounded trap."

 

Virei'tus just seems to shift to the side, not bothering to waste energy on blocking an evadable attack.

Nyx... has no energy to drain. It's as if she's dead.
She suddenly forcefully purges her toxin from the shadow's body, starting to draw it back into her'self.'

"A golem's a living being?"

 

The Shadows simply focus on locking Nyx in place.


The toxin removed, the Shadow grows in power, doubling its size again and smashing the ground, causing a massive earthquake, before firing out a storm of powerful energy bolts that explode once they touch the ground, before bouncing back up and exploding again, repeating the process and decimating all it touches.

 

"Well, it's not quite dead, so I'd think so."
