Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The guard is stopped by one of his peers, his path blocked as he looks like he was about to take action.

Nyx and her escort Shadow eventually arrive at a reinforced door, open, with a few Forest Guardians and a couple of Death Guardians waiting outside of it.

"Is the first criminal ready for his sentence?" The Shadow asks.

Most of the group nod, seeming distracted.

 

"Shall I start with a single unit of poison?" Nyx asks, drawing a scimitar.

 

"Don't know, but I can infer that it's not guarded, considering that the whole point of it is to guard itself."

"Nothin' to do there, I'll stay here."
Crystal decides.

 

"If you wish." One of the forest guardians says, motioning to the doorway.

 

"Then if we can disable the traps, that's a free point of entry.

"I'll catch up in a minute, mistress."
"Take your time, hon." Xlentia says, continuing on.

"Alright..."
Nyx steps inside, looking at the prisoner.
"So, no offense, but this is going to suck more than their torture games." She says with a smile, ready to cut into them.

 

"Pfft, I've had light poison before. You better destroy my crystal if you want to do anything." The Shadow prisoner says, confident.

 

"Would you like to go out with a kiss, hon?" Nyx asks, smiling as she barely touches the shadow with the scimitar.

 

"Big if. We could probably disable all of them, but it wouldn't last long. As soon as they notice them, the gauntlet will be heavily guarded."

"Is it okay to get off?"
Crystal asks Linoa.

 

"Whatever you say, sweet cheeks." The Shadow prisoner says half mockingly, winking.

 

"But, wouldn't that make the front gates easier to hit?" Ytir asks.

"Not yet."
-a flight to the garden later-
"Now you can. Be safe, Crystal. We've got a lot more to watch at that stadium." Linoa smiles before flying off.

Nyx blinks.
"Whoops, too late!"
The shadow starts slowly losing control of his body, the first things leaving his control is his shifting ability before his body slowly begins to form boils and other painful rashes and burns that shadows are typically unable to experience.
By the time his organs are done dissolving, his shadow crystal slowly becomes twisted into abnormal shapes, eventually distorting itself until it disintegrates.
"Five minutes? Eugh! I must be losing it!" Nyx scowls.

 

"If they alert the general watch to the gauntlet. Once again, more ifs."

"Byeee!"
Crystal calls off, then looks around.

 

"How do we get anything definitive down if it's all just a bunch of big ifs?"

The garden is fairly empty. A forest guardian, a few sage draconians, and that's it.

 

"Come up with the plan with the least ifs."

Crystal walks around, trying to find an exit.

 

The Shadow freaks out as he dies, eventually letting out a scream of pain as he's crystallised.

The forest guardians outside the room seem rather freaked out, treating Nyx with slight caution. The couple of death guardians don't seem to care however.

"B-Bring in the next prisoner!" The Shadow calls.

A pair of guards bring in an old looking water guardian, his skin wrinkled, and they throw him onto the chair. His hands seem to be cuffed behind his back with crystal cuffs.

"I know it's my time. Just make it quick." The old water guardian says, accepting of his fate.

 

"And what exactly is the difference from just withdrawing for three days?"

 

"Sorry, it's not going to be all that quick." Nyx says, turning to the guardians outside.
"One unit, or a small cut's worth of toxin?" She asks.

"If you wish to withdraw for three days, we wouldn't mind. You'd still have to eat the flower, though."

"How?"

There's an entry into the palace and one small, winding path heading further out.

 

I examine the flower to see if I recognize it.

 

"Same exact way any other plan is formed, except we be a bit more acceptable with ideas."

Crystal takes the winding path.

 

The guardians just shrug.

"I've lived my life. I know I made mistakes, I did wrong things, but this is where it ends. I'm happy." The water guardian says, accepting.

 

It's nothing you've seen before.

"Does... that have to include Eklir?"

The path takes him out into the strange voidlands Linoa flew him through. The only sense of up and down he has is the path, which is surrounded by creatures and ruins from all sides like a labyrinth.

"If you could just scream on your way out, that'd be great." Nyx says offhandedly, barely breaking skin with her scimitar as the exact same thing that happens to the shadow happens to the guardian.
