Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I will not bring harm to them directly. If they catch the toxin from a victim, then it is out of my control. I don't break promises."

 

"Well, I'm sure they'll be fine should they catch it. I believe it's part of their healing process anyway." The Shadow says, putting the crystal away.

 

"Oh, one basic to note; healing effects, attempts to isolate, and removal causes the toxin to flare up and cause severe permament body and soul damage. Anyone who's 'survived' thus far is a mere shell of a being, and dies days later." Nyx adds. "So, I wish them luck."

 

"How does it cause the damage by flaring up? Does it cause a chemical reaction or the like?" The Shadow asks.

 

"I have yet to figure that out."

 

"Well, ah, I'm sure the healers can manage it. They have strong bodies." The Shadow says, heading through a heavily guarded and extremely reinforced doorway to a basic elevator. The guards keep a stern eye on Nyx as she walks past, looking like they're figuring out ways to kill her.

 

Nyx glances at them.
"Hon, there are thousands of people who would love to end me. If you want to join them on my wall of wannabe assassins, that's fine with me and your family will love me for it, too. Just remember, before you try to pull anything - If one, all." She says, entering.

 

"Shut up and keep moving before I haul you into the damn dungeons myself." One of the guards says, clearly not having any of Nyx's attitude.

The elevator shakes a bit, and spikes that seem to emit light extend all around it as it slowly starts to descend.

 

"You are nothing next to a demigod." She retorts, rolling her eyes as she rests both hands on her scimitar.

 

"I wouldn't advise annoying the dungeon guards. They're sort of demigods like yourself," The Shadow advises, trying not to sound rude, "If they hadn't been notified of our visit, I fear your attitude may have got you some time in one of the cells."

 

"Frankly, I have a no-questions-asked favor from the Deity of Decay. If I wanted them out of my way, then they will cease to exist." Nyx shrugs. "Besides, your king needs something from me, and I suggest the guards help with his negotiations by making my stay pleasant and amusing so my demons don't have do."

 

"Think you can take those odds? I don't know how well you lot can handle armor."

"So, where's Xelentia?"

 

"We can't cut armor, no."

"If I keep following the voidlight we'll find her. Eventually."

 

"U-Uhm, this feels like things out of my reach of control, Nyx." The Shadow says.

The elevator comes to a stop in a dark dungeon, similar guards glaring at the pair as the Shadow leads Nyx through the dungeon. Large, dark red crystals seem to be hovering in various places in the dungeon, a low humming sound coming from them.

 

"Didn't think so. So, our best shot's still at the inhibitor?"

"Alright."

 

Nyx lowers her hands.
"Most things are for all of us. Don't worry about it too much." She shrugs, smiling at the sinister atmosphere. "All I know is that I could live here. So much better than my house right now; you've got the smell of death, glaring guards, and the sweet lingering scent of misery. It's almost the perfect dungeon." She compliments.

"Probably."

After a few more minutes, Linoa seems annoyed and turns around, to see Xlentia laughing.
"You really just..."
"Yep! Brought you around in circles." Xlentia giggles.
"Damnit, mistress..."

 

"Why don'tcha step in a cell, missy?" One of the guards says gruffly.

"Don't." The Shadow says quietly.

 

Nyx shrugs, continuing on as she sneaks a wink at the guard who mouthed at her.

 

"Alright. Well, the stealthiest way would be through the gauntlet, should there be no alarms."

Crystal giggles as well, not minding the time spent.

 

"Where inside the stronghold does that lead? The report didn't seem to cover it."

"Well, what did you want me for?"
Xlentia opens a portal.
"Bird watching."
Linoa nods.
"Crystal, do you want me to drop you off at the palace first or no?"
