Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Exactly what it sounds like. They chained me to the palace, imprisoned me in the throne room. When I learned about my grandma, I knew how to get out - burn the throne room to the ground."

Nothing changes; they just keep walking.

"Kill, or be killed."

Eventually, two people start setting up posts and drag a mat to the middle of the field, a few athletes carrying heavy weights out to the javelin throw field.

 

"Hmm." I mutter, before going slightly out of the village and into the swamp.
OPC: Are there walls?

 

"And you help raptors and mantises by killing humans. As such, you do want to help."
I explain.

"What're they doing?"
Crystal asks Linoa.

 

No walls, but the ground's clearly too soggy to build a wall and have it stand.

"Inderectly, perhaps. How about this - you never bother me until you need something killed, and I just might give your crazy plan another chance."

"Setting up for the high jump and preparing for the hammer throw. Those dumbbells off to the side are the hammers - it's like javelin throw but definitely different."

 

"Deal."
I agree.

"Then how is it like javelin throw?"

 

Eklir nods, leaving.

"The goal is to throw the hammer as far as possible. But, since it's so heavy, instead of running up to a line, they spin around with the hammer to buildup momentum, then let go just behind a line."

 

I head back to the portal, walking through.

"Oh, woah. Sounds cool!"

 

Eklir darts through after you, running on ahead into the hall before freezing up outside the door.
"What the hell do you have here? Heheheh... oh, you have so much to give, don't you?" He laughs, turning to look at you.

"If you want, I bet we can go try a few sports sometime."

 

"You look like a kid in a candy shop."
I comment, looking around for anything dropped off in the room.
"The other portals are off limits, the large chamber is, and probably so is the lab. Help yourself to anything else, but try not to break stuff, please."


"Huh. Never thought about it."

 

Nothing, really.
Eklir climbs up a statue and starts gliding down the hall, before landing and pausing as Xlentia comes walking down the hall in her painted armor.
"Holy hell, what is..."
"Oh, it's a little feathery thing! Have I seen you before?"
"You're a... a titan dragon?"
"Goddess, little feathery thing. Goddess."
"I have a name, you know." Eklir grumbles.
"Sorry, mortal. Don't care, I'm going bird watching!"
"W-what?! You list-"
"EMERALD!"
Emerald appears.
"Make sure I don't step on little feathery thing."
"It's a raptor, mistress."
"I don't care, we're going to be late!"
"Yes, mistress." Emerald says, rolling her eyes, telekinetically holding Eklir against the wall as Xlentia passes.
Afterwards, Eklir walks back to you.
"...You serve that bitch?"

"Well, maybe after this is all over we can, or we can play little games with your other friends during breaks or night watch."

 

"I can't answer that question because neither of them are bitches, by either form of the noun."
I answer honestly, looking back to how far away Emerald is.

"Maybe we should."

 

Emerald's pretty close.
"He is used to feral society. Permit him to say what he wants."
"I meant the titan dragon. How the hell does she not collapse under her own weight, and why does she have that armor with dyed paper over it?"

"I could teach you a few I know, but I don't really know many. For now, let's just... not participate."
A few athletes start to swing the hammers around, spinning slowly and putting them down to warm up.

 

"Because she's strong, and because she wants to."
I answer, then turn to Emerald.
"It can't hurt to learn some decency. Have you copied the report?"

"Okay."
Crystal turns his attention back to the athletes.

 

"Some people are too old to change. As for the report, yes; I just delivered it to the Matriarch's guard. They're working on figuring out what to make of it and trying to find any patterns or vulnerabilities."

A little more warm up as other athletes start jumping up onto the mat and running off as a few other workers set up ladders and put a flexible bar up about six feet off the ground, the athletes taking a warm up jump as they all seem to easily clear the bar with a small running start.

 

"Some people are just stubborn. Thanks, and where should Orchid be about now, by the way?"

"Woah..."
Crystal mutters to himself, amazed.

 

"I had her bring the report to the guard herself. I sent her with a Voidwalker escort, and though I was hoping to send our best, I'm not sure where Rineth is at the moment."

Linoa smiles.
"That bar is going to be raised, and they're still going to clear it."

 

"He's out helping spread info. He'll be back soon. So is she still at the lab or the library?"

Crystal just watches, but he clearly took in the info.

 

"She should be back home."

The bar is raised a bit, and another crowd starts to form in the bleachers.

 

"Would it be beneficial to even drain this swamp? It's not really helping anybody." I ask, walking to the Hydra's territory.

 

"You better not." CKB snaps, seeming to be keeping a distrustful eye on you.
