Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We will go to the mountains but you and me need to talk about something while we go there."

 

Onyx looks around for anyone training, curious.

 

Anne groans.
"Fiiiine." She pouts.

Dozens of draconians seem to be fighting to the death, though as the dome around active arenas resets, so do their wounds.

The big group's still clustered around the sleeping Matriarch.

"Well, we've got a little ways to go before that. Sports can really bring out some amazing things in people, though."

 

Onyx considers fighting herself, before deciding against it and going to spectate one of the fights.

 

A twin dagger user is fighting a bow user, the dagger user splitting arrows precisely as the bow user keeps evading any thrown daggers while keeping as much distance as posible between themselves and their opponent.
It looks almost as savage as a street fight, though the amount of precision between both combatants is terrifying to the simple soldier/civillian.

 

Onyx sits down and watches the fight, interested in the twin dagger user.

 

They end up cutting an arrow in half and launching one of the halves back using the other dagger like an atlatl. This slows the bow user down, but not before they land a shot by sneaking a third arrow in what appeared to be a 2-arrow volley.

 

Onyx seems rather engaged, meowing angrily to try and egg the dagger user on.

 

Seems they can't hear her, but she attracts enough attention to be pet as the fight drags on, the duel seeming to be an utter stalemate as the dagger user starts to become winded and the archer has to resort to plucking arrows off the ground to continue shooting.

 

As they reach the foot of the mountain I ask Anne
"So why do you treat the dragons like family? Who was your grandmother's lover?" I ask with a rather interesting tone

 

Onyx purrs as she's pet, enjoying it as well as the battle, curious to see how it will turn out.

 

"I dunno on both counts." Anne shrugs.

It drags on for another twenty minutes, still close.

 

"Fine. So where are your parents anyway?"

 

"Dead."

 

Onyx keeps her eyes locked on the battle, excited.

 

As it seems both are running out of energy, they both start drawing their own blood out of their claws to empower a last few attacks, the archer narrowly winning as they take a knife to the heart and use the blood spurting out of the wound to fire an explosive arrow, knocking out the dagger user as the archer runs an arrow through their skull...

The dome falls, and both draconians, not winded in the slightest, shake hands before leaving.

 

Onyx seems disappointed, before weaving through the crowds of spectators, trying to find the dagger user.

 

The dagger user seems to be headed upstairs.
"I should've known not to go for the heart, that was on me."
"We both were making stupid mistakes at that point. I'd say a little more with piercing throws and you'll get that promotion."
"Yeah, thanks. You've really helped me open my eyes to the back line's perspective."
"No problem. I suppose I'll see you tomorrow off shift?"
"Why not? I just finished up the series I was reading."

 

Onyx meows, trying to get the dagger user's attention.

 

Both combatants look down.
"Oh, hi kitty. Do you want up?" The archer asks, offering to carry Onyx upstairs.
The dagger uses stays silent, seeming to look through Onyx's eyes.
