Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You are to cease all physical punishment, and are to use whatever means you see fit, be it vandalism or fliers, to inform the village of the new ownership."

 

"Wait a second.... How do you know how to call the four guardian beasts?" I ask
"No one can control them except Xyrnal."

 

"The only way we wouldn't be able to see her is if she was sleeping or out doing something. I'll get you an audience with her as soon as possible, though."
I confirm, then look up to the scientist I was talking to earlier.
"You can take this from here?"

"Yeah. I mean, I guess there is a ton of stuff here compared to the shapeshifter village, so it kinda makes sense."
Crystal says, following.

 

"Since we have a family representative from each family, should we just send them home with a flyer?"

Anne looks at you funnily.
"Xyrnal...? What? The four guardian beasts aren't controlled, they just have handlers."

Both the researcher and Aral'hrah nod.

"Bigger town, bigger crowds. I'm just a bit surprised to see such a big hub that isn't in the middle of town."

"I need to know how to hold over eighty charges of magic to use some of my old spells, ideally."


Sgavrinn keeps watch after landing, letting out a growl if he sees anything suspicious in order to get Artemis' attention.

 

"Alright. I'll be back soon. Thanks, once again."
I tell the researcher, starting to leave.

"Yeah, I guess so. Let's find someplace to go."

 

"Oh, uh...that's quite a lot of magic. You'd probably need about four pure mage crystals designed to store magic, though the problem is, pure mage crystals are extremely hard to find." Stephanie says, opening her tome as she talks and flipping through pages.


The most Sgavrinn does is scare off an inquisitive frog as Artemis tries her best to bring the dead water guardians back to life.

 

Another nod.

"Should we try a hotel, or head out into the mountains and set up camp for the night?"

"Oh... that seems somewhat inefficient."

Sgavrinn just keeps an eye on her, worried but unable to do much else.

 

"Well, you could carry around tons of large mage crystals to make up the same amount." Stephanie suggests.


After a while, some of the water guardians start to come to, though they appear to be extremely weak. As Artemis works on healing their wounds, the ground starts to violently shake.

 

I leave, heading to the portal room.

Crystal shrugs.
"I don't really sleep, so it's your choice."

 

"Point taken." Alice sighs. "I wish Ruby finished her compression-decompression research before she passed."


Sgavrinn nervously takes off, scared by the quake.

Ytir seems to be waiting for you again.

"Maybe the mountains. Ought to be quiet there, right?"

 

"He's being taken care of."
I reassure, stepping through the portal.

"Yeah, sure. Let's go there."

 

"Ruby used to be nice, but something happened to her, and she turned on us." Stephanie says sadly.


As Sgavrinn takes off, he can see a massive rocket ship taking off from behind the structure I entered. Sgavrinn can just make out me fighting another dark being on the top of the rocket ship.

 

"Even if they are handlers the Leviathan is still extremely deadly." I say sternly but with a scared face
"I will not participate in summoning the Leviathan. I rather die then see that thing again."

 

"Good. He... didn't believe much of what I told him."

Linoa offers Crystal up on her staff once they get outside.

"I want to talk to her. Revive her, if possible, but in a weakened state. Just enough to talk."


Sgavrinn runs over to Artemis.
"Artemis, how does one tell Gaia we have problems?"

"Okay." Anne shrugs, rolling over the sand to clear the markings. "I'll ask again, which of the other three would you prefer?"

 

"It'd be nice just to know what made her turn on us. Aj has time travel abilities, though I think he's against using them. I could always look for some kind of revival method in my tome though." Stephanie says.


"I don't think there's a quick way to tell her, apart from praying." Artemis says, covering her eyes as the rocket ship takes off.

 

"It didn't seem like he did, considering he was surprised that the halls were so big."

Crystal takes the offer, hopping up on her staff.

 

"I think Aj may be opposed to Ruby in general."


"Then pray..."

"Yeah... he thought I was messing with him."

Linoa gets on and takes off towards the mountains, using her staff as a torch.
"Huh, caves everywhere. I wonder why they were dug?"

 

"You weren't, were you?"

"Mining?"
Crystal offers.

 

"I was told Ruby flirted with him. The thing is, she knew Aj and Artemis were a thing." Stephanie says, shaking her head disappointedly.


Artemis kneels down and prays.

One of the water guardians loosely tries to reach out to Sgavrinn, smiling weakly.

 

"No!"

Linoa peeks inside a cave, revealing a dragon with a couple sleeping hatchlings.
"Uh... nope."

"That's so like her. Messing with couples to make sure they're inseperable... oh, her ways were backwards but effective."


He bends down and nuzzles their hand, humming quietly.
