Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Then how did that baby even get there?" I ask, somewhat confused as I teleport back in front of the sorceress's house.

 

"Alright."
I start hastily making my way to the portal, and to the lab.

Crystal intently watches once more.

 

She seems bored.
"Okay? Are we all done here? You're holding up my ritual."

The researchers sigh.
"Put it on a bench."
"It?!" Aral'hrah growls.
"I don't know how to identify raptor gender yet. That was not part of my schooling."
"What the hell's a schooling?"
"Thirteen, just... please put them on a bench."

After another twenty minutes, the game ends 7-5. There's no announcer this time, the teams just disperse, congratulate each other out of the pool, and head to the locker rooms.
Suddenly, a loudspeaker clicks on.
"ATTENTION ALL VISITORS, IT IS NOW SEVEN O'CLOCK AND ALL OUTDOOR SPORTS VENUES ARE NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU."
"Wow, that's almost sundown..." Linoa comments.

 

"Sorry for another so soon, if there's anything I can pay you back with, just tell me."
I say, putting Aral'hrah on the bench.
"And, his name is Aral'hrah."

"That went by fast."
Crystal comments.
"But I'm glad we got here."

 

"This is part of the services granted by the rewards Mistress has granted you."

"Yeah, this was a nice way to spend a day."
Pause.
"You know, it's awkward for an instructor to do these things with a student, but I can definitely see why my husband didn't mind just going along with you and your friends on earlier adventures."

 

The messenger approaches me and hands me a piece of paper before bowing.
"Yes, we are done." I say, handing the piece of paper back to the messenger and opening a portal.

"Have my second-in-command look at it." I say.

 

"Well, thanks, anyways. It really is a lot."
I say genuinely.
"He's got a badly wounded leg. Says he can't walk on it, but it's not paralysis."
I sum up, referring to Aral'hrah.

"Well, you're my friend, so I don't think it's that weird."

 

The sorceress goes inside, a fiery portal half-open visible briefly before she shuts the door.

"Yes, sir."

"We'll work on it. Your bug friend is almost done here, too. Should we fetch you so you're present for their recovery?"

Linoa smiles.
"That means a lot... just don't expect me to let you get away with little mistakes during practice now!" She laughs.

 

I wait for the messenger took through before closing the portal and opening another one to the village. I then go through it.

 

"That'd probably be for the better, yeah."
I say, turning to Aral'hrah.
"You'll be fine here?"

Crystal smiles back.
"I never did in the first place. Now, we should probably go."

 

It seems the first reaction is always to stab any new thing that moves.

"It'd be nice if you told me just what the fresh hell you've got here, because I thought Ytir was kidding!" He grunts.

"There are a few night events if you want to go, or we can look at spending the rest of the night somewhere."

 

"I have locations and maybe some credit around here, and I know that this place is good at what they do. You can trust them, that's for sure."

"Let's look around a bit more, see what there is."
Crystal decides, standing up.

 

OOC: Uhm, what exactly does that mean

 

"Do they provide complimentary explanations of WHY THE HELL IS THE HALLWAY AS BIG AS THE RESPITE?!"

"Sure." Linoa says, heading out.
Muffy seems to be full-on asleep as Linoa holds the door for you.

The citizens seem to be aware of your presence, but most if them seem to be unhappy to change their lifestyle so suddenly, seeing as some citizens are already being beaten by your men.

 

"I thought Ytir told you what he saw."

Crystal goes through, making sure the platform he made is big enough for Muffy.

 

"I THOUGHT HE WAS LYING. IF I SEE THAT BEAST THEN I WON'T!"
"That... can be arranged."
Aral'hrah seems to swallow his next words.

It is, but the halls are crowded as Linoa gently pushes Crystal against the wall, letting the rest of the audience out.
"We're in no rush, but they've got places to be."

 

"We'll be able to see her, but first things first, you've still got an injured leg."
I point out.

"Alright, I'm fine with waiting."

 

I approach one of the men beating up a citizen.

"Alright, now what did he do? Assault, I presume?"

 

He nods.
"I'm holding you to that."

It takes a couple minutes, but Linoa only heads out once the rest of the audience has stopped streaming through the doors.
"Geez, still crowded on the way out. Busy place."

They let him go, kneeling.
"U-uhm... no, none of them have been violent. Most of them are still making a silent protest by refusing to send every family member to the village center."

 

"So, what do you want to know?" Stephanie asks happily.


"Down here, Sgavrinn!" Artemis says, pointing to a bit of land at the edge of the pool. A large, dark blue structure lies at the opposite end of the bloody pool, what looks like a doorway seemingly blasted open.

"Aj, you go inside and stop who or whatever did this. I need to stay out here and try and help these water guardians." Artemis says.

"Got it." I say, running inside the structure.
