"Does she always do that before she sleeps?"
I ask the guard.

Crystal scoots to the edge of his seat in an effort to get a better view.

 

"Relax. This isn't possession. I just chose someone who gave me a crappy look to make sure this works." She thinks before separating and walking off.

"Sometimes." They admit.

It's hard to see, but it mostly seems like a slower, more chaotic of a game of soccer, the occasional stray throw slipping past the goalies.

 

The guard collapses, terrified of Alice.

 

Alice tries to link with you.
"If a guard fainted because I went inside him and back out, does that count as aggression?" She asks, confused.

 

"I'm going to talk to Aral'hrah."
I announce, waiting for a possible objection.

Excited, Crystal continues watching.

 

"No, but I wouldn't do that. Generally possessing other Shadows is used as a sign of power to kill, since in the past, stronger Shadows would absorb weaker ones to become even stronger." I say.

 

"I didn't possess them." Alice says. "I just wanted to make sure it'd work."

Nothing.

The chaos doesn't really stop, at least until halftime.

 

"Oh, well if you're doing your hidey thing then that's fine," I say, "Where have you been for the past few hours anyway?"

 

"Accepting my fate. I'm one of you now."

 

I start walking around, looking for Aral'hrah.

"This is a lot harder to follow than dodgeball."
Crystal says to Linoa.

 

"Oh, awesome! How does it feel to be a child of the great goddess Tenebrae?" I ask happily.

 

He's just laying around, armor visible.

"Yeah. Even harder to resist bending the water a little bit." Linoa chuckles.

"It feels like a downgrade thus far. I got to retain my knowledge and basic abilities. I lost everything I assimilated from being a shadow draconian."

 

"What did you lose?" I ask, curious.

 

"Hey."
I say, walking up to him.

"Yeah, just what I was thinking! Do you think other people here can do that?"

 

"Just empowered abilities. I can do everything, just marginally weaker than I once was."

He glances up.
"This saved me, so I guess I owe you again, Hard Bargain."

"I don't know. I don't want to hurt anyone, though."

 

"Hm. What tier of Shadow are you?" I ask.

 

"Says who? Maybe I just made a bad deal on my part, but that's my problem, not yours."
I point out.

"Why would you have to hurt someone?"

 

"She didn't say, and I didn't ask. She put me below you, though, which I find insulting. I guess if I was stupid enough to get cursed and fooled in the first place then I really am below a high tier." Alice groans.

"The armor. I owe you more now."

"If I mess with the water, then the swimmers might move weird and get hurt."

 

"I'm the king of the realm, I'm a god tier Shadow. Of course everyone is going to be below me in terms of power, the only thing above me is Tenebrae herself," I say, sounding like I'm rolling my eyes, "How powerful were you pre-Shadow?"

 

"You've fought Ruby, right? We were all on her level." She complains. "I often got in trouble for tearing one too many singularities to vanquish my foe's armies back before I was cursed."
