Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Why is that?" Tenebrae asks.

 

Pause.
"And you're sure you want me to tell you right now?" She asks.

 

"Yes." Tenebrae says, serious.

 

"Technically, you've married your brother."

 

"Oh, I know that. We're not brother and sister in this universe, but I know that in your universe, our alternate selves are related." Tenebrae says.

 

"No, I mean, all high gods in every reality were created at once, and thus are all siblings. Think of everything like a flower; the realities we belong to are petals. The creator resides in the center. To thrive, each petal is given the same base set of ingreedients needed, thus no matter how you try to word it, you're married to your brother. Denial is like saying two children born from the same mother are not siblings."

 

"Creator? We were born with this universe, because we are this universe. We are not related to each other at all." Tenebrae says, confused.

 

Alice just smiles.
"Think what you want. All I can say is the Hive Master truly seeks control of your mother."

 

"I do not have a mother." Tenebrae says, sounding annoyed.

 

Alice giggles.
"Lady Tenebrae, we all have much to learn. Don't pay me any mind."

 

"The universe creates itself, in an endless cycle across realities. While different realities yield different outcomes, one thing is certain: The universe is in a cycle of assuring it's own existence. I am a larger part of this universe than other beings, as I encompass all darkness within it. There is no being that creates it, it creates itself, and has created itself in the past," Tenebrae explains, "If you do not believe me, then I suggest you seek out the gods of time and space once you are one of my children. You do not need oxygen, water or anything you would usually need as a Shadow, you can subsist off of darkness. I'm sure you will be able to find them."

 

"Sure." Alice nods.

 

Tenebrae closes her hands around Alice, and puts Alice against her chest, pressing against it. Alice feels her Shadow-half becoming stronger, and she slowly feels herself being pushed away from Tenebrae's hands before everything goes completely black, not even night vision able to pierce the darkness. Alice soon feels a heavy beating, slowly getting louder as she moves toward it. The closer Alice gets, the faster the beats, before Alice reaches Tenebrae's heart. Alice feels her Shadow-half take over as her normal-half is melted away, before Alice loses all consciousness.

Once Alice wakes up, she feels extremely different, laying at the bottom of Tenebrae's statue.

 

I do as well, waiting.

Crystal intently watches the game.

 

Alice gets up, touching the statue and trying to make a link.

There seems to be a lot of waiting before the Matriarch just falls over, asleep.

It's chaos, mostly covered by splashing water and such.

 

She makes a link after a bit of a wait.

"Feeling alright, my child?" Tenebrae asks.

 

"I lack memories and most of my old abilities. I thought you said I would retain them...?" Alice asks, sounding distressed.

 

"They'll come back, don't worry. I gave you your ability to hide within Shadows, as well as the ability to empower and possess others." Tenebrae says.

 

"So I am no longer bound to hiding in shadows only?" She asks, calming down a bit. "And, I hope my knowledge will return as you go through it?"

 

"Yes, and no. Your knowledge will return over the next few hours, as your mind and body 'recovers'." Tenebrae says.
