Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"-don't know-hm?" Artemis asks, pausing what she was saying, "I think so. I haven't really been able to devote as much time to Sgavrinn since we've been separated."

 

"Shut up and take a right." They grunt, standing up.

"Mrow." Muffy responds, attitude unchanging.
"I swear, you've been to the trainer eighteen times and you've learned nothing, you fuzzy little prick!" Linoa growls.

Alice sighs.
"Would you like me to go fetch your starving pet, then?"

 

"I would've thought he'd have told me if he was starving, but I guess it would be nice to see him again." Artemis says.

 

I smile, following their directions.

"Muffy has a trainer?"
Crystal asks Linoa.

 

"I think you're a bit far for him to reach you telepathically, and your forest is probably a bit dug up since he'd have been feeding himself." Alice comments. "And Aj, before you think this is your chance to lose me, I've also had you rigged up to a soul tracker for the past... pretty much since I first moved into your city."

"Five doors on the left and downstairs."

"Mostly for her attitude, yes."

 

I keep following the directions.

"That kinda makes sense."

 

"Make out with Artemis for me, why don't you." I say, rolling my eyes.

 

"I practically already have." Alice grunts, disappearing.

You enter a musty, somewhat mossy dungeon.
"First open cell."

"Kinda? Clearly she needs a better trainer."

 

Artemis shudders, and the pair of us continue onward as normal.

 

Minutes later, Alice returns with a weary Sgavrinn, who just walks up to and nuzzles Artemis, humming.

 

I take the cell, sitting down inside.
"How long am I going to be here?"

"See seems pretty cool."

 

"A year." They grunt, subtly slipping a crystal into your cell.
"Or less." Sapphire says telepathically.

"She's a neat pet, and she's usually nice, but she... has her way of getting what she wants."

 

"Hey, Sgavrinn!" Artemis says happily, petting Sgavrinn gently.

 

More nuzzling and humming.
"When Ragnyon got metal hands and metal feet I went home. Myria left after about a week." He says, content. "Miss shadow draconian fed me."

 

I take the crystal subtly, and pocket it.
"Without reason? My employers won't like this."
I say out loud.
"I hope so. I don't want to be prompted to call in Aj."
I respond telepathically.

"Huh. If you say so."

 

"Employers? Heh, please... you work for raptors."
"I killed the supervisor. Please just go with it, I'm trying to get as much info as possible for you." Sapphire responds.

"I mean... she's not above stealing or anything. She's usually worth the trouble though." Linoa says, scratching behind a purring Muffy's ears.

 

"You mean Alice? Why didn't you come and see me! I would've fed you, Sgavrinn." Artemis says, hugging Sgavrinn.

 

"That's not true, but defending myself won't help me, so, I'll be here."
I relax.
"At least talk back to me soon."
I say telepathically.

Crystal smiles, before looking around at his surroundings.

 

"I couldn't find you! That and the forest kept me at home. It keeps moving." He complains, hugging Artemis back.

"Good call." They say, locking your cell and leaving.
"Your report will be done in a day, and I'll just drop it off at the portal room."

Linoa landed on a flat clearing leading up to the city entry, mountains visible off to the right and a few dragons playing with each other in the valleys.

 

Sitting down, I bow my head and wait time out.
"Thanks."

"Let's go."
Crystal says, starting to walk towards the city.
