Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"So what are you going to do?" I ask.

 

"Thank you."

"Ah, your majesty. I was getting a bit concerned from not hearing a peep from the expedition. Is it going well?"

"Probably just hide inside you for another few months." She says, shrugging.

 

"How long have you been inside Aj for...?" Artemis asks, sounding embarassed.

I shift about nervously.

 

"Long enough to know you two are only seperable by death." She chuckles. "Don't worry about it, you aren't the first lovebirds I've spied on and I doubt you'll be the last."

 

"So...you saw...uhm...those times where..." I say nervously, finding it hard to talk.

"I don't know how to feel about this." Artemis says.

 

Alice rolls her eyes.
"Yes, yes I did. Everything since a week and a half after my promotion when I got bored with taking cases."

 

"Oh god..." I say, seeming to have an internal crisis.

"Y-You're not going to tell anyone about what you saw or heard, a-are you?" Artemis asks nervously.

 

"Lady, are you insane?! Gods can't even mind control or memory read me because I can tell you exactly what I saw where and when I did! Hell no I'm not going to tell anyone, just like I haven't with my other millennia of secrets!" She scowls.

 

"Just making sure..." Artemis says, looking guilty.

"Let's just tell those magma guardians their temple is safe now. They're probably thinking we've died." I say, walking into the light blue magical aura and disappearing. Artemis follows me, disappearing too.

 

Alice seems to already have merged with you again, though you can only tell because she's making you stop looking nervous.

 

I sigh, heading out of the temple.

Most of the magma guardians in the village seem to be waiting outside the temple, cheering when they see Artemis and I.

"Thank you so much!" One of the magma guardians says.

"The village elder would like to see you." Another magma guardian says, smiling.

Artemis and I head through the crowds, turning to go into a passageway through a cave.

 

"Stop looking like you fudged it and just tamed the thing or some shit. Own the victory." Alice thinks.

 

"Nobody likes a showoff who revels in glory. People like modesty." I think.

Artemis and I head through the cave, needing to activate a few more switches to activate bridges and fighting off a few more hostile creatures before heading out into a grassy area, a large hut in the middle of it.

 

"You looked like a third person went in and died as you walked through that crowd."

 

I just head into the large hut with Artemis.

An elderly looking magma guardian resides in the hut, drinking some strange looking tea.

"Ah, welcome. I sensed you defeated the evil in our temple." The elder says, smiling.

"Yes, it was quite tough. Though when we killed it, it dropped these two things." Artemis says, showing the necklace and heart crystal.

"I see. That necklace is the Necklace of Power, it is part of a set that is said to grant great power to those who combine them. From what I have seen of you two, I believe it is right for you to keep it." The elder explains.

"What about the crystal?" I ask, curious.

"That is a crystal of life. It is most likely what granted the evil that invaded our temple strength, and if you absorb it's power, your life energy will strengthen." The elder explains happily.

"Do you know where we may be able to find the other necklaces?" Artemis asks.

"No...I'm sorry, I don't. Though I can tell you that whatever evil invaded our temple wasn't alone. It is most likely already seeking out the necklaces of Wisdom and Courage. I shudder to think what would happen if all three were to fall into the wrong hands." The elder says, looking intimidated by the thought.

 

You feel Alice resist an eye roll, otherwise keeping her presence inside you nearly unnoticeable.

 

"We'll try our best to stop this evil force before it's too late." I say, determined.

"If we've secured the first necklace, then we should be able to secure the second and third." Artemis says, smiling.

"Thank you, both of you. You will always be welcome in my village." The elder says happily.

Artemis and I leave the hut, taking a shortcut back through the cave.

 

"Indeed. Anyways, I require you to send over another survey corps to the realm I am currently in to assess the state of the village, as well as the general area around it. I wish to know which sector of this village to develop to bring the most income. I also require the survey corps to inform the citizens of the village that I shall be ruling over it for a time." I say, before opening a portal to Perniciosa. "Understood?"

 

"Ever tried to talk with one?"

Crystal opts to take another look at the dragon.

 

"Isn't this pretty much like one of those video games you tried to play sitting upside-down?" Alice thinks.

"Hell no! If they could talk, they'd have tried when we sent envoys!"

Linoa seems to have flown over by now, and the guard seems to be scolding the dragon until they see the rainbow emitted by Crystal, once again ignoring the discipline.

"I believe so. Survey corps through this portal, who will look for profitable developments, tell the citizens you are in charge briefly, and that's it?"
