Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It reveals a holographic message, then an audio recording. Which do you look into first?

 

"If we wanted to go that way, we'd have to bring a few stones and I'd probably have to scope it out first. I wouldn't mind doing so, I just didn't at the time."

"Not really. I'm trying to see if this works for reforming."

 

I decide to look at the holographic message, Artemis glancing at the crystal.

 

"Huh... okay. And other than you, remind me which one of us can fly?"

"Just... don't make a mess, please."

 

"As far as I know, no one. But raptors can climb."

"I drank it all, don't worry."

 

It projects a dark blob. So helpful.
"Hey, thanks for the job. It meant a lot, but I quit when I heard what you were going up against. You may be a shadow and I may be a shadow of my former self, but trust me when I say that you do NOT want to be in the dark when it comes to the Hive Master.

This is a note to thank you, and to let you know you may never see me again. If the guards try to use this message to track me... please destroy it.

"You said you flew in. How would we climb there?"

"If you shift, it may... come out."

 

I decide to listen to the audio recording, confused.

 

"Sealed?"
"Sealed..."
*click... five footsteps*
"They still going for it?"
"Yes. Blew it every time. Should give us what we need to get both."
*pen scratching*
"Have they even found... her... yet?"
"No, but I still tell you, she'll turn."
"I gave her everything. She's bound to me and knows it."
"I'm hoping that you're right. I'd love to end their meddling as soon as possible."
Pause.
"...on that note, their progress?"
"Not much beyond recapturing Xlentia."
"So, you were right."
"Indeed, we never needed to fight to break them. I've doubled my production since I could stop diverting resources to... keeping them busy."
*Pen scratching*
"What about the other reality?"
"We won't need to siege. Our foes lie here. They can only send their worms to... 'help' the rebel cause."
"Good. That'll do. Dismissed."
*chairs sliding*
"Thank you, Master."
"Keep it up."
*door opening*

"It opens up off of the cliff. I'm not sure how well you could climb it, but I'm just saying options."

"I know. I'll keep that in mind, but I can just carry is anyways with magic."

 

The group thinks.
"Hey. Eklir."
"What about him?"
"He can do it, I bet. He can climb ceilings. If anyone can make it, it's him."

"Fair point." Linoa shrugs, taking a sip of blood.

 

I nod.
"I should scout it better, though, beforehand."

Crystal relaxes once more, waiting for Linoa to finish.

 

I contemplate for a while.

"Aj?" Artemis asks.

"Get the others, bring them here." I say, serious, walking off.


A long while later, I bring the elite guardians, Aeris, Aqui, Ignia, Tirra, Mortimer and Victus to the outside of the throne room, meeting up with Artemis, Stephanie, Shadow Stephanie, Katie, Myria and Angela, as well as Eve who approaches from behind Artemis' group.

"Abigail, you can take off your disguise now. You won't need it where we're going." I say, looking at Angela.

Angela reaches into her mouth, touching a crystal hidden within it.

"Where are we going?" Angela asks with Abigail's voice.

"We're going to kill the Hive Master." I say, serious.

Most of the group seems shocked, "Aj, are you sure this is a wise move?" Myria asks.

"Are you sure we should be doing this so early? Shouldn't we have some more preparation?" Eve asks.

"I've explained my situation to Tenebrae in prayer. Hopefully, in the situation where we fall, she may be able to retrieve us. Hopefully."

"I-I'm not so sure about this." Katie says nervously.

"It's simple, we jump the fucker. We're strong enough on our own, and I'll have the army at the ready. We're going to kill this guy, and it's going to be soon." I say, determined, opening a portal to Xlentia's chambers.

 

"Please do."

She seems to be taking her sweet time.

Sapphire comes out of nowhere and clocks Angela.
"FOR FUCKS SAKE!" She screams before storming off, cloaked the entire time.

Xlentia glances at Angela.
"What did you do to her?" She asks, confused.

 

I nod, then take off and fly back to the gauntlet.

Crystal decides to take a better look at his surroundings.

 

Shadow Stephanie disappears as she heads through the portal, re-appearing with Abigail's armour.

"Where's the hive master?" I ask as Abigail puts her armour on.

 

Seems they sealed it off, likely saw you coming and saw a pattern.

The cafe seems to be an old building, surrounded by other equally old buildings which all seem to have yet to burn down or rot.

I try to hold back my anger, de-summoning the crystal.

"Let's just go relic hunting." I say, frustrated, opening a portal to Earth.

"Are you ok, Aj?" Artemis asks, concerned.

"I'll be fine." I say, stepping through the portal. Artemis follows.

 

I check what they sealed it with.

A bit saddened, Crystal relaxes once more.

 

Just a rock to close the entry off, it seems.

Linoa seems to be almost done. Maybe three minutes longer, tops.

 

I look around for anyone that might be watching.

Crystal just waits it out.
