Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

No animals. Only... dozens more 'humans' like the one Artemis just spoke to.

 

Considering the previous human's statement, Artemis just looks for anyone who looks leader-like in the village, or any large buildings that would indicate a leader's residence.

 

There's only one building; a hut that reeks of blood and has odd flowers sitting at the doorstep.

 

Artemis speeds up her pace, heading into the hut.

 

There's a mage drawing chalk circles inside.
"It's rude not to knock." She grumbles.

 

"Sorry," Artemis apologises, "It's a little hard to control myself with all this blood around."

 

"What are you, a rookie at this?" She groans, still drawing. "Anyhow, if we're going to play the rude but to the point game, the hell do you want? Oh yeah, I'm sorry about mocking you."

 

"I've been informed your people hold a powerful artefact. I was hoping to acquire it." Artemis says.

 

"You mean these freaks and I? Yeah, we have an artifact. What's it to you without the other?"

 

"It is a step in the direction of acquiring both, no?" Artemis asks.

 

"If you can't get your act together with those houndheads, why do you think having mine will help? Progress means nothing to an unfinished task."

 

"I need both, don't I?" Artemis asks, "Or are you hiding something from me?"

 

"You need both. One does nothing for me. So, if you get the other, we'll talk. Until then, if you wouldn't mind..."

 

"One does nothing for you?" Artemis asks, suspicious.

 

"Correct. I can't use it for crap. But, you need it and I need other things. So, you're going to prove you have the manners to talk to dogs, then we'll talk." She grunts.

 

"What do you need?" Artemis asks, "If you can't use it, why hold onto it?"

 

"I need supplies, always. Constantly. I knew that if I held onto a godly artifact, I'd eventually get a buyer. And if the rumors are correct, there is a wealthy king inside you."

 

"Why not make your own supplies?" Artemis asks.

 

"I do. That doesn't mean it's easy."

 

"Do you consume supplies at a fast rate?" Artemis asks.
