Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"That's her, alright."
I say, landing in the doorway.

 

He climbs off.
"How does she even... w-wh..." Ytir stammers.

"...Damn."

 

"Come on, I'll introduce you two."
I say, walking towards Xelentia.

 

Ytir follows nervously.
"I... how does she, like, not step on you?"

 

"By looking."
I repeat, making my steps louder so Xelentia can hear.

 

"Is her vision even that g-"

"Who's there?" She asks, turning.
"Oh, hello hon! Who's the bird?" Xlentia asks, bending down to peek at the scared-stiff Ytir.
"U-um... r-raptor."
"Isn't a raptor a kind of bird."
"Uh... maybe?"

 

"He's Ytir, part of the Aral'hrah tribe. Ytir, this is Xelentia."
I say, gesturing to her at the mention of her name.

 

"U-uhm... h-hello."
"No need to be scared, hon. I don't bite." She replies sweetly.

 

"Unless you're eating, but I doubt you'll be eating Ytir."
I say, factually.

 

"I won't be, and I rarely eat. It's hard to find things my size, as it is for everything."

Ytir just keeps still and silent.
"So... uhm... w-what are you the goddess of?"
"If you're scared now, that's best kept secret for now."

 

"Yeah, you don't know where this palace is located, right?"

 

"No, I don't." Ytir admits.

 

"Once again, maybe it's better to not know, for now.

 

"Hon, he should at least know where he is. It's not nice to take someone somewhere then never tell them where they are."
Pause.
"Are you a he?"
"U-um... yes."

 

"He's the one who followed me, but..."
I turn to Ytir.
"Do you really want to know?"

 

After hesitating, he nods.
"C-can't get too much worse than a rotting planet."

 

"Void Palace. Step outside, and you may or may not be able to see beasts of extraordinary power."

 

"Sounds unsettling, but... also sounds like the norm here."
"Kind of is, hon."

 

"Well, you're talking to an extraordinary goddess, and you may meet my friends, some of which are extraordinary people. It's what we deal with around here."

 

"Apparently so... I feel honored that you all aren't, like, siding with the humans."
"Hon, we side with whoever we want. We just seem to be biased against humans most of the time for some reason."
