Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Ali, we didn't want this to happen. The people who ordered your heart to be shot out will be dealt with as soon as we find them, but please, don't hold it against us." Shadow Stephanie says.

"theyre nice people, ali" Onyx says, trying to comfort Ali.

 

"I don't want this see planet dissolve in pure chaos. Your tribe failing is something that can promote that, from what I've seen. Your tribe crashes, and the humans get more of an upper hand, which furthers chaos. Those assholes wont stop until every last one of you 'monsters' are dead, if nobody does anything about it."
I say, but manage to remain calm.
"I'm not against you. I'm really not."

 

"N-no... t-this is what y-you p-pride yourselves o-on..." She sobs. "I-I don't want t-to hear it."

"Then why can't you show one of us around your domain?"

 

"Perhaps in the past, yes, but not anymore. We didn't want you to get hurt, Ali. Please believe me when I say that." Shadow Stephanie pleads.

 

"Two things. One, it's not my domain. And two, I'm honestly nervous as to what kind of response I'll be getting, from your tribe as well as the people who own where I'm going."

 

Ali looks up at Shadow Stephanie briefly, choosing to remain silent as she and Onyx hug it out.

"Well, we were nervous to approach you. First times always burn."

 

Shadow Stephanie has a sympathetic expression, clearly not priding herself on anything.

Onyx seems to just want to make Ali happy again.

"If it's anything to you, I sent the repair group back after they were attacked. They've fixed up your cafe, made it a lot prettier." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Which is why I always try on first impressions."
Pause.
"Give me time to think."

 

"A moment ago, you had all day."

"W-what about m-my crops?"

 

I almost ignore them, thinking.

 

They wait.

 

"Is there anyone with you right now, apart from me?"

 

The raptor glances around.
"No."

 

"Regrown, designed to yield better harvest, and some more were added. The forest guardian we sent planted some fruits and vegetables, so you have a bit more of a varied menu." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling kindly.

 

"I t-thought those d-don't grow in the desert...?" She asks, starting to calm down slightly.

 

Suddenly making a decision, I walk to the portal and stick my head through it, looking around.

 

"Don't doubt the magic of a forest guardian." Shadow Stephanie says, winking.

 

There's nobody at or around the portal room, it seems.
It also seems the raptor followed you.

I step through, motioning them to come through.

 

"A guardian of life and nature with the powers of the forest. Artemis is one." Shadow Stephanie says.

"i really like artemis, shes supurr nice!" Onyx says happily.
