Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Look, out here, everything has a price tag. I know you're a good guy, but nobody here except for me believes you mean that in the slightest. So name something."

 

"Fine. If you insist. Consider it repayment for answering my questions. There. Are you lot settled now?"
I ask, looking around.

 

The raptors, a few dozen in sight, turn and nod after a short debate.
"I guess so." Aral'hrah says. "Watch out for the Mantis."

 

"Will do. Stick around for my return."
I say, and checking to make sure I don't burn any brush, I fly off towards the kingdom, taking a bit of a longer route, around what I know of the Mantis territory.

 

The Mantis territory seems to mostly be a roofed... forest, if you could call it that. The shade is probably a godsend from the rays of the strange green sun you see slowly coming up over the horizon.

 

Taking note of this, I jet for the kingdom.

 

The kingdom seems pretty far, even while flying. You must've overclocked your joints to keep up with the raptor...

Eventually, you get back at the gates, and the guards don't seem to mind you just landing in over the wall.

 

I do so, limbering up a bit as I look around to where I've landed.

 

Seems you're on the main road, a farmer carting some crops towards the marketplace.

 

"Excuse me,"
I say, approaching the farmer and trying to get their attention.

 

"Huh? Oh, hello! You a new blood?"

 

"Pardon?"
I say, confused.

 

"Are you new here?" They repeat.

 

"Oh, yes I am. Sorry, 'new blood' can mean a few other things where I'm from."

 

"Ah, where would that be?" He asks.

 

"Ah, far, far, far from here. I'm travelling, actually,"
I say, quickly changing the subject.
"and I was wondering: what makes the ground in this city so different from the ground outside it?"
I ask.

 

I go to the Archives and look around for Emily.

 

"Ah, the royalty, of course! They made a pact with a dragon, and ever since we have held our own against the vile butchers that try to steal our lands."

As usual, she greets you before you find her.
"Hello, Terrae. Can I help you with anything today?"

 

"A dragon?"
I say, curious.
"Is there by chance a library around with more information? Nothing against you at all, you just look busy."

 

"I am, harvest is coming and I need to take advantage of my early crop! I don't know if there's a library, but every shopkeep knows how to get to the stronghold! I bet there's someone who'd be able to help there."
