Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Very well, I agree to those terms." The stealth elite says.

 

"I was thinking the same, but, what do we do? Wandering onto their territory and stopping by in front of their patrol doesn't seem like the best idea."

 

The crystal reappears, the lock on the realm tightening.

"Well, this is going to get awkward, but to achieve your end of the deal, you must allow me to understand how you work as a being and where you pull your energy from. Resistance will cause the crystal to disappear, and its magic is dormant until the lock is lifted. Understood?"

"What if we act like silent saviors? Have the raptors set up an ambush, then step in and stop them in the nick of time?"

 

"I understand, but you will have trouble understanding yourself." The stealth elite says, oddly cryptic.

 

"I just need the data. I don't work with all the jumbled stuff." They say, setting up a few machines.

 

The stealth elite remains calm, eyes locked on the crystal, checking to make sure it is indeed the stolen crystal.

 

It is the exact same crystal.

The elite feels a bit violated as it seems like the machines pick bits of her apart before piecing them back together again.

 

The machines find it very hard to actually pick parts of the elite apart, and the data they find is almost nothing at all.

 

"We're going to need to make a lot of armor if that's going to happen."
I say, half-joking.

 

The machines continue anyway, nonexistent data recording as they go.

He smiles.
"You have a better idea?"

 

From what the machines can gather, the most logical conclusion is that the elite is an imaginary being.

 

"Miss, do you bleed?"

 

"Not try to have tea-time with a mantis?"
I suggest.
"What do we really need from her? And who knows what'll it'll cost us to get it from her, after we maybe do a setup."

 

"We want to see how their society works, and we want to meet her. We can offer them armor or a ceremonial robe, and we're still new enough here not to be associated with any one faction."

 

The elite cuts her wrist with a knife, and blood trickles from it.

 

The creature collects the blood and scans it.
"You seem awfully... real... for a figment of my imagination. Stupid machine needs to get updated, I guess."

 

The blood disappears as the creature tries to collect it. The elite keeps an eye on the crystal, though tries to look normal.

 

"Get the blood in the machine." The creature groans, bringing the device closer to the elite.

 

I seem to think for a bit.
"I feel as though association is one of our bigger problems. Should we get the raptors' help and have a defense ploy against them, it'd make it seem like we were against them. Hell, getting their help in the first place is going to be hard, much less keeping the act up against them."
Pause.
"I know I'm not offering new ideas, here, but we can't start building bridges across warring lands."

 

The elite pours some of her blood into the machine, but as soon as it gets far enough from her, or it touches the machine, it just disappears.

"I can assure I'm not doing this." The elite says, her tone truthful.
