The creature seems to take pleasure in this.
"What do you think you're gonna do with me?"


"Onyx jumped on my gut."

 

"Thank you. Best of luck to you."
I say, turning and leaving, and making sure not to bump into Rineth.

 

Rineth's already out.
"That was... concerning."

 

I shrug.
"Their choice to do that, and I can respect their choice."

 

The stealth elite stays silent, using power she'd otherwise use for talking to focus on completely taking over the mind of the creature, making it an extension of herself in a sense.


The doctor glares at Onyx, and Onyx runs away.

"That isn't a healthy sign, either way." The doctor says.

 

"In fairness, nobody wants to rob you if they can't have an easy out."

She still can't take control, but she does notice that her every move is being measured, recorded, and watched.
"Maybe I'll finally get some vacation time! This data is fantastic!" They beam, hugging the elite.


"I'm sure it was just residual."

 

"True."
I say, walking along.
"See any places you wanted to check out on the way?"

 

The stealth elite still puts her power into the slow progress she makes, ignoring the fact she's being watched, before draining the creature of it's power and using it to focus in directly on what's watching her to take aim, her power tearing apart the reality slightly.


The doctor pauses for a bit, "Alright, then. Be sure to call us if you start to feel pain." She says, leaving the room.

 

"Nope."

There isn't much to tear.
"Miss, you can't kill me like that. And you can't keep trying forever. You'll just get erased!"


"Will do."

 

The stealth elite adjusts her aim with the creature, focusing in and remaining silent.

 

It doesn't change much.

 

"Let's find a marketplace, or something, then. See if there's anything neat we can't quite buy yet."

 

The stealth elite just goes back to taking over the mind of the creature.

 

"If I gave up the crystal would you stop bullshitting me and go home?" They grunt.

"I saw one down the main road. After you?"

 

"That was my mission." The stealth elite says.

 

"Sure."
I say, taking the lead and going back to the main road.

 

"Well, then I guess we're both just stuck here until you destroy us both."

Rineth trails, the marketplace the size of a castle in and of itself.

 

"Dang."
I say, impressed.

 

The stealth elite just continues to try and take over the creature's mind.

 

No further progress is made on either side.

"Well... this is something."
