Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

A quick knife shatters the crystal as the dark being takes it, thrown accurately by the surviving stealth elite.


The fire guardian quickly sorts the fire out in the kitchen, while the water guardian offers the forest guardian a glass of water (unsurprisingly).

"What the hell just happened?" The sand guardian asks, confused.

"We've been deceived." One of the Shadows says, shaking his head.

 

"Come on, let's see what this city has to offer."
I say to Rineth, starting to walk along what seems like a road.

 

The dark being swats it out of the air, laughing.
"Run while you can."

The fire guardian sees that the kitchen is a mess, some dried blood on the stove and some drag marks where Onyx tried to help her.

Rineth follows, the road leading straight through the city, passing by shops and houses as much as they pass by parks and restaurants.

 

The stealth elite charges the dark being, determined.


The fire guardian calls the water guardian and a Shadow into the kitchen, and the trio clean up the mess.

 

The crystal vanishes and replaces itself with a bladed whip, their body seeming to flow like a liquid.
"No survivors, no report."

It doesn't take long; it's a small kitchen, but most of the plants growing in the walls have been torn up or singed as well. Seems the Hive Master has something against Ali.


Ali tries to sit up, confused as to where she is.

 

The stealth elite lunges at the dark being, before...not lunging at the dark being?

The stealth elite seems to be on the other side of the dark being, then in front, then behind, then back to where she was, yet the dark being feels a barrage of punches from the opposite side.


After clearing the kitchen, the trio calls the forest guardian in, and she regrows the plants as well as adding a few new ones.


Ali seems to be a white room, sitting in an equally white bed, artificial sunlight pouring in from a window near to her. Ali's head appears to be bandaged, and a bowl of various fruits sits on a table next to her.

 

The being's body simply bends with the impacts, the dark being releasing an overcharged emp blast to counter.

The cafe seems clean at this point. The only thing that remains is the obsidian contract slab.


Ali tries to head for the door.

 

I keep looking around for a bank, if there is one there.

 

The stealth elite doesn't seem to be affected by the emp blast, seemingly disappearing.

A short moment later, there's a blast of concentrated light energy aimed directly at the dark being, the stealth elite falling through the air holding a white gun of sorts, before the stealth elite seems to disappear only to fire another blast from the ground, disappearing again and firing another blast from the opposite direction and leaping into the air.


One of the Shadows summons a large hammer, smashing the slab into pieces with it.


The door seems unlocked, opening out into a hallway of other medical rooms.

 

If there is one, you'd have to go off on a side road.

The shots go clean through and start to orbit the being, the elite suddenly unable to teleport or phase away.
"Run while you still can, weakling."


Shaky, Ali walks into the hallway and tries to find her way out.

 

I do, making sure Rineth's following.

 

Rineth does keep following, wary.
"Surprised to see this in a wasteland."

 

The stealth elite doesn't need to run, teleport or phase away, smirking as she simply stands still.


One of the doctors soon puts a stop to Ali's attempted escape.

"Whoa whoa whoa, you shouldn't be outside your room. Come on, let's take you back." The doctor says, leading Ali back to her room.

 

"It's not too surprising. There's always some species that feels like they need to band together and make something."

 

"Fine..."
The light disperses, the realm locked.
"Two enter, one leaves. Don't waste my time." The being says, dark orbs forming in their eight hands.


"W-where's Onyx..."

"But the ground here isn't... dead."

 

The stealth elite simply stays where she is, smirking like she's already won.


"The palace cat? I can ask someone to get her for you if she'd make you feel better, but please, stay in your room. It is for your own safety and well-being." The doctor says, opening the door to Ali's room.

 

"We can ask around about it, if you want."

 

Seconds later, they're cut off from every external power source, locked to the dueling realm.
"You cannot waste my time."


Ali hesitates.
"B-but the king and queen need to know the gifts they gave me were stolen!"

"Nah, not too concerned. Just odd."

 

"I'm looking for a bank, anyways, so it can't hurt to ask."

 

"Fair enough, but would it kill you to look up at the road signs?" Rineth says. "Two blocks and a left, I think."
