Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'll handle that if the time comes."

 

"Don't kill people."
I remind.

 

"I won't." He assures.

"Hold! State your name and business!" A guard shouts from the wall.

 

"Thirteen, Rineth, traveling."
I say, pointing to us respectively.

 

The guard heads into the elevator, turning the dials and teleporting Ali and himself into a dark room with nothing but a terminal and a portal frame. The guard starts typing into the terminal, and shortly after, a portal opens to Ali's cafe within the frame.

 

"Species and how many weapons you carry?"

Ali bows.
"Thank you so much!" She says, going home.

 

"Robot, and an amythest broadsword."
I say, drawing the sword, and then looking to Rineth.

 

"Draconian, lance, and breathweapon."

"Please hold a minute!" The guard shouts, leaving for a moment.

 

"They didn't shoot us on sight, so that's a good sign."
I say to Rineth.

 

A minute later, the drawbridge lowers.
"Make it quick. No bugs allowed!"

 

I sheath my sword, briskly walking in.

 

The portal closes behind Ali once she steps through, leaving her be.


A long while later, a group of Guardians and Shadows arrive at the cafe. It seems to consist of a sand guardian, air guardian, forest guardian, fire guardian water guardian and a pair of Shadows. The forest and water guardian look as if they're more attuned to the desert, however.

 

Rineth also leaps in, the gate closing very close behind you two.

Ali seems to be cleaning.
"You should be able to trace them outside."

 

"We're here to help repair your cafe, Miss Ali. The team of stealth elites have already been sent out." One of the Shadows says.

 

Once inside, I look around, curious.

 

"Ah, thank you. Can you help with the tables? I finished most of everything else.


The stealth squad finds the crystal being carried by a draconian in a mech suit.

It's a normal city once inside.

 

"Would you like me to make you some new tables?" The forest guardian asks, smiling.


Before the draconian has much time to react at all, he finds his mech suit being ripped apart, the crystal wrenched from him and his neck being cut through, all by a seemingly invisible force within a matter of seconds.

 

"Please."


The entire squad, draconian and all, ends up getting vaporized by some supervising force...
At least the crystal's gone too...?


Back in the cafe...
'Ali' suddenly lunges at the forest guardian with a dagger, cutting them up as much as possible before they dematerialize, cackling.

The real Ali slowly regains consciousness back in the medical wing.

 

One of the squad members survives, having stayed back at a safe distance to watch the scene play out, completely unseen. She looks around for any traces of the crystal, ignoring the mourn she feels for the loss of her comrades.


The forest guardian, caught off guard as she was creating a table, quickly steps out of the way. A large vine hand uses the half-grown table to knock 'Ali' out of the way, while a Shadow quickly teleports over and holds 'Ali' away from the forest guardian before she dematerializes.

 

A dark being takes the crystal, staring straight at the survivor as they take their time leaving, crystal in hand.


The cafe is quiet, hold a fire in the kitchen.
