Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"How so?"
I ask, matching his pace once more.

 

"You don't give, you don't take, and you can keep quiet when you need to."

 

"The only thing I've really shown you is that I know how to listen to what others say, and that I know how to not step on every crunchy thing I can."
I admit.

 

"Then you better not show me anything else until I start trustin' you."

 

"Well, who knows, I might spill some cards here and there. Better keep a watchful eye."

 

"Heh, you think I've been lettin' you trail me solo? I've kept you surrounded at all times. Don't talk about me not keeping a watchful eye."

 

"Then why haven't you killed me and taken the chestplate?"
I ask, curious.

 

"I'm not stupid. You think that I can just up and attack robots on my own at will and get away with it? You spark off the bramble, not bleed. You aren't even part of the food chain, top or bottom."

 

"Very well. I shall send a group of stealth elites to trace the crystal and destroy it." I say.

"Is there anything else you want?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

I continue to the direction of the voices.

 

"And hopefully I don't become a part of the food chain around here."
Pause.
"Do you have something I can call you by?"

 

"No, that's all, thanks." Ali says, calming down a bit.

They seem to be coming from a burned camp, but there's nobody nearby...

"Not yet, you don't."

 

"You are dismissed then." Shadow Stephanie says.

The guards open the doors to the throne room, letting Ali out.

"Feel free to explore the palace at your own leisure." I say, smiling.

 

"Thanks, but I do have to finish cleaning up from last night. Going to need to replace a couple tables, too..." She sighs.

 

"'Lizard fellow' it is."
I decide for myself.

 

"What are the tables made of?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"If you're calling me a lizard, then I'd like to know what lizards you know are feathered, not scaled."

 

"Wood. They're normal tables, but tough to get in the desert."

 

Shadow Stephanie and I discuss something amongst ourselves for a bit.

"Do you think your cafe needs anything added to it? Any decorations or renovations?" I ask.

 

"Would you mind asking again once I finish the repairs? There's... too much on my mind right now."
