Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Onyx touches her collar crystal again, and a portal opens back up to the cafe.

 

"Alright. Care if I watch?"

 

A minute and a half later, the Anubis returns with Ali, now bleeding from her head.

"Your call."


Emerald taps Crystal.
"Hey. You passed out for a bit. Wakey wakey."

 

"I will, then."
I say, then turn to Rineth.
"Will you be staying?"

"Whu..."
Crystal says, getting up.

 

Onyx panics, running up to the front desk of the medical ward and pointing to Ali. The receptionist looks up and notices Ali's bleeding head, before hastily calling surgeons noticing the severity of the situation.

A small group of surgeons, a mix of Shadows and Forest Guardians, wheels a bed out to Ali and the Anubis.

"Please put the wounded...being, on here." A surgeon says to the Anubis.

 

"No, I'm going to check on the others."

"You passed out. You okay?"

 

"Okay, go ahead."

"...Yeah, I think I'm good."
Crystal says, looking at himself.

 

The Anubis lays Ali on the bed.
"We're Anubi..."


An Anubi that looks like Ali approaches the guards outside the throne room.
"Excuse me, but your queen gave me three favors and I was wondering if she could further define the terms of what requests I can make." They ask, showing the crystal and the box.

Rineth leaves as the scientist enters the parameters into a hologram, getting various sized sheets of metal after glancing at the hologram.

He's practically covered in etchings.
"On the bright side, you're done. On the flip side, if you have second thoughts, removal hurts more."

 

The surgeons take Ali away into the medical ward


"What's this box?" The guard asks, suspicious.

 

I follow the scientist, watching.

"Okay."
Crystal says, still getting his grasp on things as he looks around for Linoa.

 

The other Anubis waits nervously.


"Three contracts for the Shadow Royalty's power, issued by your queen."

He melts five sheets together before compressing them into one hardened plate, going to make a mold of the raptor's body in the meantime.

Linoa's helping him sit up, Muffy curled up on his lap.

 

Onyx talks to the receptionist for a bit, before returning to the Anubis with a necklace, a light green crystal attached to it which she offers to them.

"they said this will alert you when ali is feline better" Onyx says happily.


"Wait here." The guard says, heading into the throne room. The other guard keeps a close eye on the Anubis.

A short while later, the guard returns.

"Queen says she never issued the contracts in a box, she issued them on an obsidian slab." The guard says, glaring at the Anubis.

 

"Thank you..." They say, still worried.


Ali opens the box, revealing the obsidian slab.

 

I just keep watching.

Crystal pets Muffy.
"Are we gonna try this out?"
He asks Linoa.

 

The rest of the time is cutting, shaping, and attaching the pieces of the armor together.

"Do you remember what you got?" Linoa asks, looking hopeful.

 

"Ah, my apologies, Miss Ali. Head on inside." The guard says respectfully, opening the door for Ali.

 

I just keep watching, waiting.

"Teleport null, barrier null, ice null, and earth null."
Crystal recites, taking a bit of time between each one.

 

She bows, heading inside.

Eventually, a dark plate chestpiece with some of the draconian's metal cloth extras starts to form and finish.
"Aaand... seven pounds. See if this satisfies your friend."

"Good! Then yes, let's go back."

 

Shadow Stephanie and I sit on our thrones in our larger forms within, looking down at Ali.

"Ah, Ali. I assume you'll be wanting to make your requests?" I ask.

 

"Thank you."
I say, reaching for the armor.

"Let's!"
Crystal says, getting up while holding Muffy.
