Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What the...?"

 

Crystal grits through it once more.

I do, stepping through the portal.

 

The cat meows, its tail waving in the air slowly.

 

"Are you a shadow?"

"Aaaand done."

You step onto what seems to be some kind of tunneling worm corpse.

 

The cat shakes its head, purring.

 

Crystal looks at it again.

"Pleasant place for entry."
I say to Rineth sarcastically.

 

"Then why'd you come from their home? Did they send you to kill me?"

It's an odd rune, as well as the largest of the three.

"Look around."

Doing so reveals an alien landscape, where everything looked once alive. Blood and corpses are everywhere, and any plant life seems to also be carnivorous.

 

The cat rubs against Ali again, purring affectionately.

 

"I'm thinking of getting an element null for my last one."

"Know what happened here?"
I ask Rineth, curious.

 

"What are you doing?" Ali asks, unsure of how to react.

"Okay. Let me know when and what."

"The entire planet was a living being. After a few... issues... it was slain."

 

The cat just purrs, seeming to enjoy Ali's presence.

 

Ali just stands there.

 

The cat goes and sits in front of Ali, looking up at her.

 

"Earth rune."
Crystal decides after a while.

"Did everyone else die with it, or did it kill them?"

 

"I don't know what to do with you."

"Alright..." Emerald says, etching.

"A mix of both."

 

Crystal waits once more.

"Any survivors?"

 

The cat heads out into the cafe, looking around curiously.

 

It takes even longer...

"Few. All of them... evolved... to survive here. There's some useful stuff here, as usual."

All of the Anubi look furious, arguing amongst themselves about the group.

 

The cat meows to announce it's presence, jumping up onto a table to get a better vantage point.

 

Crystal just waits, dealing with the pain.

"'Evolved', how?"
