Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The blade doesn't go through his robe, but it loosens his grip.

The dagger reverts to being just metal.
"Tell him not to cheat next time!" Nyre shouts.
It flies back to his hand, then its sheath.

 

"Alright I will!" Abigail shouts back.

"I think it was pretty clever of you to weigh the odds in your favour like that actually. It's the specifics that gets them isn't it?" Abigail says to me, smiling.

"I wasn't going to bargain with Ihra's life, it's just downright cruel." I say, growing shadow wings and flying for myself.

"Idiot broke my claws anyway." Abigail says, staring at the shattered remains of her obsidian claws.

"Oh, I think I could fix that." I say, summoning the Watch of True Time in my hands.

I aim the watch at Abigail's claws, and time begins to reverse for them. After a short moment, the shards fly up to her claws and re-attach themselves, fixing the claws. I click the watch then de-summon it.

"Whoa...these are...real?" Abigail says, remarking her claws.

"They're the ones from earlier. I reversed time to a point where they weren't broken, and resumed it, fixing them." I say.

"Thanks, Aj!" Abigail says happily, hugging me.

"We should probably go see Artemis. She seemed kind of off." I say, beginning to glide down to Artemis.

 

"The only thing which might eat the rubble was the Serpent we killed earlier. Since they are very rare and you never get them in the same place, then this isn't one either."

 

I haven't seen that yet, so I guess that's what happened?
"Uh, thanks." Lazarus continues trying.

 

Nyre's gone. Ihra and Rineth are right where they were earlier.
Ihra's laying lazily over Rineth's tail and waves to you as she sees you.

"Hey, that thing... it's got a rider. Maybe that's the third Sister of Storms Rina spoke of."

You notice her disappear, then reappear all within a blink of an eye.
"I think you'll be okay. Anything more than this and you'd have bigger problems than magic out there. Know anything about the mainland, or do I need to walk you to civilization?"

 

"Indeed. I think the fight just ended as well."

 

I wave to Ihra, smiling.

Abigail touches down in front of Artemis, next to me.

"I still think you jinxed us Flower Power." She says, laughing.

Artemis floats above the ground slightly, glaring at Abigail.

"What? Oh come on, don't get so wound up over that. I'm sure it was just coincidence." Abigail says.

Artemis raises her hand, beginning to drain Abigail's life.

Abigail falls to the floor, "Artemis...what the...hell!?" She manages to say, barely able to keep herself up.

"Artemis, stop! What are you doing!?" I shout.

Artemis eventually lowers her hand, turning to glare at me. She doesn't seem to be herself, though she seems hesitant to harm me. Abigail coughs up copious amounts of blood, before falling to the ground, unconscious.

I glance at Abigail, before back to Artemis, "What is wrong with you!?" I ask Artemis, anger in my voice.

Artemis just glares at me, her eyes glowing a dark green. A look of recognition and fear appears on my face. I walk over to Artemis, "Snap out of it!" I shout.

Artemis readies her Scythe, glaring at me with hatred. I hug Artemis, "You need to fight it, you can't let it wrestle control over you." I say, hugging Artemis. After a moment, Artemis pushes me away, giving me a blank expression. I give Artemis a desperate smile.

Artemis suddenly spins Gaia's Scythe around and stabs me through the chest with it, before pulling it back. Blood flows from my open wound, "Artemis...don-" Artemis hits me down with the end of her Scythe.

 

Ihra stands up and looks at Artemis gloomily.
"I liked you more than them, but..."
Ihra looks into the crystal of her staff, and her eyes flash red.
"...if we're playing these games..."

"...You need to leave."

"Almost... for now."

 

"Wait, what's happening to Ihra?" I look around for Rineth "Uhm Rineth, is this supposed to happen to Ihra?"

 

"No, but when it happens, it's in your best interest to stand back."
"It's a phenomena we call 'End of Innocence.' It occurs when she's mentally overcome with strife, but her soul knows she's still got a fighting chance. She won't remember doing anything until she regains consciousness; even if she kills someone."
"It's best she doesn't remember, else she would likely quit cooperating, flee, and hide somewhere."

 

"Don't...I can handle...this." I say, getting up. Blood spills from my wound, yet I stand upright.

"I don't want to do this, but you've left me no choice." I say.

"Artemis, I know you're in there somewhere, and I just want to say..."

I disappear, only to appear behind Artemis a moment later. Before she can turn, a stab her through the back with Shadow Katana. It pierces through her, the blade visible through her chest. Her eyes stop glowing, replaced with shock.

"I'm sorry." I say, tears streaming down my face.

Artemis falls forward, landing on the ground heavily. A large flower grows around her, encapsulating her. "It was the only way." I say to the flower.

I glance over to Abigail. A large pool of lava now resides where she once lay.

I add the final piece to the trio, falling to the floor, unconscious. Blood streams from the large hole in my torso.

 

"Wait...did...I think the three of them just died..."

I run over to AJ. "My good sir, you have done all that the honor of battle requires you to. Your friends have fallen before you, and you are struck with a deadly wound. Would you like to end your misery right here and now?" I then smack my face, realizing I'm talking to an unconscious body.

OOC: Do you think your character can still live?

 

Ihra collapses, then gets up.
"Guys? Hello? Wha- hhhhh..."
She starts shivering.
"Come on, get up."
All wounds stop bleeding.
"Whatever it is, get up."
Blood returns to bloodstreams.
"Please..."

Ihra nudges you with her staff.

Ihra's staff crystal is glowing intensely.
"They're not dead yet. Shut up." She snaps.

 

"Ihra. It's fine. He may not get up again, but you have to remember, in one way or another, he helped you. If he dies right now, then he died fighting. He died doing what he thought was right."

 

"They always say comedy comes in threes. This,"
I gesture to the bloodbath.
"is anything but comedic."

 

OOC: Aj, as well as other Shadows, can only be killed by light. If the physical body takes too much damage, a shadow will form a 'Shadow Crystal' which contains their soul. Smashing this with light magic will kill the shadow.

In short, Aj isn't dead.

I just lie there, face down in the ground. The wound begins to heal, albiet very slowly.

 

"Okay, then. I'm watching. Waiting. I have all day."

"Ihra... You shouldn't..."
"Not like this, they won't. I need them, if only one of them."

"That's putting it lightly..." Rineh mutters.

He walks up to AJ and starts breathing darkness over him.

You're coated in darkness.
"Thanks, Rineth."

 

You can hear me try to stop a chuckle, albeit obviously failing.

"Ihra. I think AJ might come back. Rineth seems to be coating him in....something"

I walk over to the puddle of lava, and then pull out a tea set from my bag, and then pour water in the tea pot, and put a teabag inside, before closing it and holding it above the pool. "I deeply apologize, Abigail if I am disrespecting you."

 

I twitch a little, the wound's healing accelerated by the darkness.

Abigail's lava pool bubbles, and Artemis' flower pulses.

 

OOC: Now it's my turn.

I laugh a bit.
"Making the best out of the situation, huh? Are you going to serve that tea boiled by Abigail's remains to her when she wakes up?"
I say, sarcastically and a bit sad.
