Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

They snicker before sitting back down.
"Like hell I'm going to lay down and let you beat me up."

 

"Get on the ground." Katie says, serious, an ice trident forming in her hands which she holds to the Anubis' neck.

 

The trident phases through Katie's hands and melts.
"No weapons in the cafe. You know the rules."
The shadows notice a small, mostly silent alarm going off.

 

Crystal doesn't try to hide the feeling of pain, but goes through with it.

I cuff up the sleeves, and walk out of the bunk room.

 

"Done. What else? You have room for three more runes."

Rineth seems to be waiting.
"Why the bathrobe?"

 

Katie kicks the Anubis hard in the face, the force of which able to break a bone.

"If you're not with us, you're against us!" Katie shouts, "If you're so willing to join the Hive Master, then you're clearly our enemies!"

"So why don't we just kill you now and cut out the middle man?" Katie asks, a little quieter for effect, before kicking the Anubis hard in the face again.

 

Their snout caves, and they fall to the ground dead after a minute of being unable to breathe anything but blood.

The others stand up, furious.
"Hope you don't need that artifact, bitch!"
"I'll be waiting for Nyx to have her way with you!"

Ali can be seen peeking nervously through the back room before slamming the door and locking it, audibly hyperventilating.

 

"Can I mix different styles of runes?"

"In case I need it."
I say, not faltering.
"Do they allow taking it out of the palace?"

 

"Yeah."

"Yeah, they're free."

 

Angela screams, noticing the dead body, trying to hide in her chair as she shakes, terrified.

"Go join the hive master! It'll be more fun killing you that way!" Katie shouts.

"Stephanie?" I ask.

"S-Shit! I left my stuff on the weapon rack." Stephanie says, fumbling around where her cloak pockets would be.

"Alright, Shadow Stephanie, you go sort stuff out with Ali, I'll deal with Katie the old fashioned way." I say, teleporting over to Katie and putting an arm around her neck, choking her.

"Sorry about this, folks." I say as Katie struggles to breathe, kicking and trying to get my arm off of her before she passes out. I sling Katie over my shoulder, heading to leave.

Artemis takes Angela by the hand, Angela herself terrified as she heads to leave too.


Shadow Stephanie appears next to Ali, offering what appears to be a small obsidian slab, gold writing melted into it, and a black crystal.

"I'm terribly sorry for what's happened, myself and my friends behaviour included." Shadow Stephanie apologises.

 

"G-go away!" She cries. "Take your murderous 'heroes' and never come here again!" She screams, curled up in a corner and trembling.

 

"Can I get a movement rune?"

"Alright."
I say, taking it off and looking and myself.
"Damn. I was thinking I could fit it somewhere in my clothes but now I'm not so sure."

 

"Anti teleport or anti planeswap?"

"You could always get one custom made."

 

"Please accept these gifts, I'm sure they'll be of extremely great use to you." Shadow Stephanie says, holding out the obsidian slab and crystal.

 

Ali glances up at Shadow Stephanie.
"What are they? B-bombs?" She asks, untrusting.

 

"A contract for three deeds in the Shadow Royalty's power, and a crystal to take you to the Realm of Shadows and back." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Anti teleport."
Crystal decides after thinking.

"Where?"

 

Ali hides her head again.
"So, three excuses for you t-to kill me, and a crystal to my grave... g-great. T-thanks..."

"Alright. Hope you can tolerate the pain..." Emerald says, starting to carve into Crystal again.

"Lab, actually. They work with fabrics."

 

"No, three deeds from us. Whatever you wish, we will try our best to perform using the resources we have available," Shadow Stephanie says, "Consider it like a genie's three wishes with less omnipotence."

 

"I'll get through it."
Crystal says confidently.

"Huh. I'll get to it later, though. I'm thinking of looking through the other two portals."
