Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Happily, Crystal jumps off and follows Linoa.

"Apologies."
I say, slowing down and looking around.

 

"Ugh!" Stephanie says, annoyed, storming out of the kitchen.

"These people are useless!" Stephanie says as she sits back down at the table, annoyed.

"T-They don't seem to b-be that bad." Angela says nervously.

 

Linoa goes deep into the Archives, stopping near Emerald.
"Can you wait five minutes?"
"That's not up to me." Linoa replies.

Inside the bunk room, it seems to be a shift change. Half of the creatures are waking, the others going to sleep.

The fifteen Anubi in the cafe glare at Stephanie.

 

"Huh?"
Crystal asks, a bit confused, but then immediately realizes what he was confused about.
"Oh, yeah, we can wait."

I look around for any sign of cloths.

 

Five minutes later, Emerald turns to the duo.
"Alright, nullnagic runes. Which ones are you thinking about getting?"

The giant closet would be a start.

 

Stephanie just ignores them, annoyed.

"I understand why Abigail doesn't like them now." Stephanie says, clearly pissed.

"Abigail? T-The girl from the flower shop?" Angela asks, confused.

"We have a friend called Abigail. Her reputation here...isn't the best." Artemis says.

 

The other Anubi stand up.
"This is why some of us joined your enemy. You act like it's the obvious choice to join you, but it's far from obvious. None of us like how you're treating Ali for trying to be hospitable, then getting the courage to speak of what's ailing her." They say, serious.

 

"...What kinds are there?"

I go to open the closet, trying to not hit anyone that might be there.

 

"Join Hive Master get nuked. Join us don't get nuked." Shadow Stephanie says casually.

Angela seems rather terrified.

 

"See, that's the problem. Live as a minority under murderous beings, or get murdered by murderous beings." Another says.
"We appreciate the aid, but... you're not making this easy on us."

"Movement null, element null, and barrier null are the main categories."

Inside are, as you'd been tipped, towels and rags, plus a few extra robes.

 

"I honestly don't give a shit as long as you don't get in our way," Shadow Stephanie says, "Go die. See if I care."

Angela sinks back into her chair, scared.

 

"I think we're going for element null, right?"
Crystal asks Linoa.

I take a rag, and look at the robes.

 

The Anubi sit back down, except for one.
"Screw you. I hope the gods make you suffer if you have the gall to show up here without the actual resistance leader again." They sneer. "If you're our only hope, then I wouldn't be surprised if you killed her off, you murderous dogs!"

"Your call. Think of what you had problems with in our practice duel, and try to choose runes that would help counter that."

The robes are all pretty basic. Monocolored with the Void Palace insignia on the backs of all of them.

 

Crystal takes little-to-no time to think about it.
"Element null."
He says to Emerald.

I do a quick count of how many robes there are.

 

"Ooh, that's a good point. We could ask the gods for assistance." Shadow Stephanie says.

"You think they'd really help?" I ask, doubtful.

"Worth a shot." Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging.

"Gaia might be able to revive us if we were to fall in battle, but that's a pretty big ask of her." Artemis says.

"I guess Tenebrae might be able to help. She helped us with our war between realms, right?" I ask.

"Maybe we could try and ask the goddess of space to like, shrink the Hive Master to the size of an ant and then just step on him." Shadow Stephanie says.

"God, if only it was that simple." I say, sighing.

"It can be. Maybe ask the goddess of magic to drain his magical abilities while the goddess of space shrinks him, and then we just step on him." Shadow Stephanie says.

"You realise you're suggesting we ask gods, gods we don't even know where to find or contact, for help, right? We'd be better off planning a more realistic example." I say.

"A-Asking for divine intervention d-does seem a little far fetched." Angela says, nervously.

"I hope that isn't our only hope for survival against the hive master, though." Katie says sadly.

"Nukes. We need nukes." Shadow Stephanie says.

"Do you think Abigail could make nukes? Like, fiery nukes?" I ask, curious.

"We don't want to add too much of an elemental augmentation to the nukes. People might be resistant to it or be able to suck it up and use it against us." Shadow Stephanie says.

"I'm worried about Abigail. It's not like her to just up and disappear." Katie says, worried.

"I can't help but wonder where she went too. It's like she just disappeared." Artemis says.

 

"Oh, so your plan is to kill us all and destroy everything? You don't actually know HOW to kill the Hive Master? Tsch! Good guys my ass..." They groan, sitting down.

"Which elements?"

Hundreds.

 

I sigh, "Alright Katie, you can have this one if you want." I say, nodding to Katie.

Katie gets up, walking over to Anubis with the rather loud mouth.

"Excuse me?" Katie asks.

 

"Let's start with ice."

I take one, putting it on and seeing how it fits.

 

The Anubis stands back up.
"Yes, miss?"

Emerald starts carving runes into Crystal, most of the process hurting.

It fits just fine, if not a little long in the sleeves.

 

"Do you think you could maybe lie down on the ground for me? Face down?" Katie asks sweetly.
